Live Pro Wrestling “Suplex at the Sportsplex”
September 20, 2026, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the Southeast Sportsplex

This venue is a really large gymnasium. The lights were on, and it was easy to see. Live Pro is a family-friendly promotion, and there were a lot of kids in the crowd here. The crowd was maybe 150. New Bedford is on the very southern tip of Massachusetts, straight south of Boston.
* I’ll point out that Pro Wrestling Junkie held a show in New Jersey at the same time. The two shows are about a four-hour drive apart, and they are splitting the available Northeast talent pool.
1. LJ Cleary vs. Jose Zamora for the Irish Junior Heavyweight Title. Cleary just made his TNA debut last week; cagematch.net records show he won this belt earlier this month. Zamora is the kid with the camera around his neck so he can record his life 24/7. LJ knocked him down with a shoulder tackle, and Zamora stalled on the floor. In the ring, Zamora hit some punches. LJ danced, then hit a leg lariat to the jaw for a nearfall at 2:30. Zamora stomped on Cleary and kept him grounded.
Zamora did an Old School tightrope walk and hit a standing neckbreaker for a nearfall at 5:00. Zamora mounted Cleary and hit some punches. Cleary flipped Jose off the ropes ot the mat, then LJ hit some quick kicks and a double stomp to the back for a nearfall at 6:30. Zamora hit a running knee to the sternum for a nearfall. Cleary put Zamora on his shoulders and hit a swinging sideslam for the pin. Good action; I hope TNA brings Cleary back, as he’s a fresh new face on TV.

2. Ichiban vs. Ben Bishop. Ben is a legit seven-footer who played college basketball in the area. Ichiban hit a top-rope flying knife-edge chop, then a huracanrana. He hit a springboard back elbow. Bishop scooped him up and hit a Sidewalk Slam at 1:30, and Ichiban rolled to the floor. They brawled on the floor, and Ben threw Ichiban back into the ring. Ichiban hit a plancha, but Bishop caught him. Ichiban pushed him face-first into the ring post. In the ring, Ichiban hit a frog splash for a nearfall at 3:00. Ichiban hit a leaping side kick, but Ben again slammed him to the mat for a nearfall.
Ben hit some blows to the kidneys and a splash in the corner. Ben hit a big bodyslam at 5:00 and he posed before hitting a leaping elbow drop to the sternum for a nearfall. Ben missed a Mafia Kick and got himself crotched on the top rope, so Ichiban shook the ropes, then hit a kip-up stunner at 6:30. Ichiban hit a dropkick into the corner, then a second-rope missile dropkick and a swinging Flatliner for a nearfall. Ichiban went to the top rope, but Ben flipped him to the mat. Ichiban hit a 619. He leapt off the top rope, but Bishop caught him by the throat! Ben hit a chokeslam for the clean pin! I actually expected Ichiban to win that somehow.
Ben Bishop defeated Ichiban at 8:13.
3. “Shot Through The Heart” TJ Crawford and Love, Doug, vs. “The Breadwinners” Cash McGuiness and Patrick Wheatman vs. “Waves & Curls” Jaylen Brandyn and Traevon Jordan vs. “Star Struck” Channing Thomas and Anthony Greene in a four-way for the Live Pro Tag Team Titles. STTH and W&C are the babyface teams. Scrawny youngster McGuiness opened against Jaylen. Jaylen hit a Poetry In Motion splash into the corner. Waves and Curls hit stereo leg drops on Cash. Doug and Channing tagged in and locked up at 2:00.
Doug and TJ hit stereo falling punches on Channing. They hit a team bulldog. Traevon entered for the first time at 3:30. The Breadwinners were both tagged in. (Kayfabe this makes no sense.) Because, of course, Patrick fell to the mat and was going to let Cash pin him! The other six jumped in and attacked them, and everyone fought in the ring. They set up for a possible eight-way German Suplex spot. (NO, they didn’t try to pull off that move.) Lots of silliness, though. Suddenly, just the four babyfaces were in the ring. Brandyn dove over the ropes onto the heels. Doug dove through the ropes at 6:30.
The taller Jordan dove over the ropes onto everyone! Doug threw Green into the ring. He hit a bodyslam on AG for a nearfall. Star Struck and STTH traded offense. Traevon hit a double clothesline on the Breadwinners at 8:30, then splashes in opposite corners on each of the kids. He hit a double suplex! Star Struck jumped in and worked over Doug. Doug threw his rose petals as a distraction. Channing hit a top-rope flying elbow drop on Doug for a nearfall at 11:00. STTH hit a team powerbomb move on Channing for a nearfall. However, Wheatman immediately snuck in, rolled up TJ, and got the flash pin! New champions! A commentator said the Breadwinners “stole” the belts.
“The Breadwinners” Cash McGuiness and Patrick Wheatman defeated “Shot Through The Heart” TJ Crawford and Love, Doug, and “Waves & Curls” Jaylen Brandyn and Traevon Jordan and “Star Struck” Channing Thomas and Anthony Greene in a four-way to win the Live Pro Tag Team Titles at 12:10.
4. Donny Staxx vs. Erik ChaCha. I have seen Staxx (think Anthony Bowens) before in Pro Wrestling Superstars; I am not sure if he’s been in Live Pro before. ChaCha is talented, but he’s only about 5’3″. He hit some quick kicks to the thighs at the bell. Staxx hit a Buckle Bomb at 2:00, and he took control. He mounted Erik and hit some punches. Staxx hit a fisherman’s suplex for a nearfall. They traded rollups. ChaCha hit a stiff kick to the spine and a double-underhook suplex at 4:00. ChaCha hit a frog splash for a nearfall. Staxx hit a second-rope German Suplex; he bridged up to get his own shoulders off the mat and got the pin! Pretty decent for the time given.
Donny Staxx defeated Erik ChaCha at 4:49.
5. Sidney Bakabella and Joey Bakabella vs. Brandon Webb in a handicap match. Webb wore his scary face paint, but he’s the babyface. I’ve had my fill of Sidney’s antics in recent weeks, so I zipped over this one. Sidney put Webb in a Figure Four to win the match. For my own sanity, I have no regrets about skipping that, based on what I saw.
Sidney Bakabella and Joey Bakabella defeated Brandon Webb in a handicap match at 5:34.
6. Brett Ryan Gosselin vs. Craig Costa. Craig has to be almost 60; I guess he looks good for his age, but I am not interested. Yeah, I’m skipping another one. BRG accidentally superkicked his manager. Costa immediately hit a Black Hole Slam for the pin.
Craig Costa defeated Brett Ryan Gosselin at 5:50.
7. “Team Dreamer” Tommy Dreamer, Liviyah, Little Mean Kathleen, and Teddy Goodz vs. “Team Swizzle” DJ Powers, Lauren St. James, Sweatboy, and Trigga the OG. In theory, Goodz is retired, but he has now wrestled on the last several Live Pro shows. The heels stalled on the floor and this match took forever to get going. Goodz and Powers locked up, and we’re finally underway! Kathleen checked in, and she bit DJ’s forearm! Powers grabbed Liv’s hair and threw her to the mat! Liv hit two German Suplexes on him. Liv hit a second-rope missile dropkick at 1:30, then a brainbuster!
Trigga tagged in, so Dreamer got in for the first time. Trigga tried a German Suplex, but he couldn’t budge Dreamer, who wiggled free. LMK and Liv worked together to twist Trigga’s arm. Dreamer and Goodz hit a team elbow drop on Trigga at 5:30. From the apron, DJ kicked Goodz in the back, and it allowed Trigga to drag Teddy into the heel corner. Sweatboy tagged in and hit some punches on Goodz. Goodz and Powers traded forearm strikes at 7:30, and DJ kept Teddy grounded.
Dreamer finally got a hot tag, and he hit two clotheslines on Powers and some jab punches, then a Bionic Elbow to the top of DJ’s head. Dreamer hit a running neckbreaker. Suddenly, all eight were brawling in the ring, and the action spilled to the floor. Dreamer vanished to the back but returned at 10:00, holding two kendo sticks! In the ring, Goodz hit a superkick on Sweatboy. Everyone else was still fighting on the floor. Lauren got in the ring and jumped on Teddy’s back. Liv hit a sideslam on Lauren.
Trigga slammed Liv! LMK slammed Trigga! DJ slammed LMK! Dreamer set up for a double DDT, but Lauren made the save. Lauren jawed at Dreamer. LMK struck Lauren with a kendo stick. Trigga hit a low blow uppercut on Dreamer. Goodz hit Trigga with the kendo stick. The babyfaces slid a table into the ring and set it in the corner. Sweatboy hit a pumphandle slam on Goodz at 14:30 and celebrated. Dreamer put Powers across his shoulders and hit a running DVD through the table in the corner and pinned DJ. The four babyfaces celebrated together.
“Team Dreamer” Tommy Dreamer, Liviyah, Little Mean Kathleen, and Teddy Goodz defeated “Team Swizzle” DJ Powers, Lauren St. James, Sweatboy, and Trigga the OG at 14:57.
Final Thoughts: An okay show. While I admittedly am not a fan of the Breadwinners, that was a pretty good four-way tag match. The other three teams in that match are all so good and so polished in the ring. The Breadwinners are pesky gnats. Ichiban-Bishop was good for second place. Cleary-Zamora takes third.
I’m indifferent about using Tommy Dreamer in 2026, but if you are going to book him, putting him in a multi-person match is the way to go. He got in a few punches and never took a back bump. I do like the family-friendly style of wrestling here, and I’ll point out that despite three women in that eight-person main event, never once did a man punch a woman.
