WWE Smackdown rating (8/14): How did the show hold up against NFL preseason games?

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

WWE Friday Night Smackdown finished with an average of 1.247 million viewers for USA Network, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.com. The number was down compared to the previous episode’s 1.47 million average.

Powell’s POV: Friday’s Smackdown finished with a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down from the previous week’s 0.35 rating (the previous week’s numbers were higher than usual due to being the brand’s SummerSlam fallout show). The NFL competition could have been worse, as the show ran against one game broadcast on NFL Network, as well as two regional games. One year earlier, the August 15, 2025, Smackdown averaged 1.430 million viewers and a 0.35 rating for USA Network.
