By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

AEW Dynamite (Episode 358)
Las Vegas, Nevada, at The Pearl Theater at the Palms
Simulcast live on August 12, 2026, on TBS and HBO Max

[Hour One] Pyro shot off on the stage while Excalibur checked in on commentary with Tony Schiavone and Paul Wight…

Will Ospreay made his entrance dressed in non-wrestling attire. He spoke about it being a privilege to return to Arena Mexico last week. He recalled taking a call from his mother before last year’s AEW Grand Slam Mexico and being informed that his grandfather had died. He spoke about how his grandfather was his hero.

Ospreay tied it into working at Wembley Stadium. He also mentioned that Kenny Omega didn’t appear last week at Grand Slam Mexico. Ospreay noted that Omega was in the building. He said that if he and Michael Nakazawa weren’t too busy trimming his tiny testicles, perhaps he would join him in the ring.

Don Callis’s entrance noise played. Callis walked onto the stage and noted that they were in the birthplace of AEW. He said that neither he nor Ospreay were on the company’s first show. Callis said that while Ospreay was watching the show to see a place he couldn’t wait to compete at, he saw a place he couldn’t wait to exploit.

Callis spoke about his history with Kenny Omega. Callis said he did more damage to Omega than diverticulitis did. Callis said Ospreay probably thinks the road to All In London is paved in gold, but it’s actually paved in Ospreay’s blood.

Trent Berreta and Rocky Romero attacked Omega from behind. Ospreay fought back, but Mark Davis and Jake Doyle joined the attack. Schiavone wondered why the Callis Family was attacking Ospreay.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made his entrance while holding a pipe, which he used to batter the Callis Family members until he and Ospreay were alone in the ring. Omega got a mic. He teased hitting Ospreay with the pipe, but he stopped short.

Omega told Ospreay he felt what he said. Omega asked Ospreay what he thought was going to happen. Omega said he warned him about Callis and Jon Moxley. He said the guy running around calling himself the real world champion is both of their problems.

Omega stood over Ospreay, who was seated in a corner of the ring, and told him that this isn’t the man he wants to fight at Wembley Stadium. Omega offered his hand to Ospreay and pulled him back to his feet. Omega said he couldn’t help Ospreay again, and it would be just the two of them until All In.

Ospreay said he appreciated the help. He said he wouldn’t need or ask for Omega’s help. Ospreay said thank you and then dropped the mic. Ospreay sold abdominal pain as he exited the ring…

Powell’s POV: A decent segment. I can’t say that it made me more excited about the AEW World Championship match at All In. To be fair, though, I was already excited about the match before the angle took place. On a side note, WrestleTix listed the venue as being sold out, with an estimated 1,846 tickets distributed. The total number of seats on the map is 1,906. The last time AEW ran the venue, 1,803 tickets were distributed for the February 4, 2026, Dynamite show.

The broadcast team spoke at their desk and noted that All In London was 18 days away. Excalibur ran through the rules of the Continental Cup and then recapped highlights from the first three tournament matches that were held on AEW Collision. Excalibur and Schiavone ran through the Dynamite lineup and said the three-way match was coming up…

Highlights aired from last week, including Andrade winning the first entry spot in the Casino Gauntlet, followed by MJF attacking him after the match… Entrances for the three-way match took place…

1. MJF vs. Mike Bailey vs. Nick Wayne in a three-way for the second entry in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In London. MJF had his left thigh heavily wrapped. Excalibur said Andrade wasn’t medically cleared to travel to Las Vegas. A tweet from Andrade was shown regarding his health.

MJF and Wayne decided to team up on Bailey. It didn’t last long, as Wayne stopped MJF from pinning Bailey. MJF told Wayne that he should be happy that he was able to be in the ring with him. Wayne cleared MJF from the ring. Bailey performed a springboard moonsault onto both opponents on the floor before a picture-in-picture break. [C]
