NXT TV
Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center
Aired live November 12, 2024 on The CW
[Hour One] Vic Joseph and Booker T checked in from ringside. Mike Rome was the ring announcer. Vic hyped up last week’s “sold out” ECW themed show. Vic sent the show to highlights from last week’s ECW Themed NXT. The highlight video had a 1990s scan-line filter to emulate the look of ECW Hardcore TV…
Entrances for the opening match took place. Lash and Jakara got a picture-in-picture promo to hype the upcoming match…
1. “Meta Four” Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson vs. Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia. Lash and Giulia started the match. Giulia asked for a Test of Strength, but Lash mocked Giulia by putting her hand higher. Lash no sold a pump kick and floored Giulia with a Pump Kick of her own. Jakara tagged in. Lash and Jakara hit Giulia with tandem dropkicks. Jakara got a few rollups on Giulia. Giulia countered a crucifix into a rollup. Jakara caught Giulia with a Missile Dropkick for a two count.
Giulia countered Jakara’s fireman carry into a Octopus Hold. Stephanie tagged in. Steph caught Jakara with a 619. Giulia and Stephanie hit Jakara with a double elbow to give Steph a two count. Stephanie caught Jakara with a sliding leg drop. Steph hit Jakara with a leg-scissors face slam. Lash tagged in. Lash clocked Steph with some good right hands.
Lash held both opponents and gave them a front rack. Jakara tagged in and got on Lash’s elbows. Jakara jumped off Lash to hit Giulia and Steph at ringside with a crossbody.[c]
Lash and Jakara cut the ring in half on Stephanie back from break. Steph jumped over Jakara and brought in Giulia for the hot tag. Giulia cleaned house with strikes. Lash had a nice reversal to a La Mistica, but Guilia countered back into a modified Code Red. Giulia hit Jakara with a Snap Suplex for a two count. Steph tagged in. Giulia and Stephanie hit Jakara with tandem kicks followed by a back suplex.
Stephanie caught Lash with a Codebreaker. Giulia caught Lash with a Shotgun dropkick from the apron. Giulia tagged in with Jakara legal. Giulia caught Jakara with a Missile dropkick. Steph hit Jakara with a Package shoulder breaker. Steph and Giulia hit Jakara with a Double Kamigoye to give Giulia the victory.
Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer defeated Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend via pinfall in 10:54.
NXT Level Up Play by Play guy Blake Howard interviewed Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia about what to expect from both of them in Minneapolis. Giulia said she knew this day will come. Steph said “See you at Deadline”…
A rules video aired to explain the rules of the Iron Survivor Match. It’s essentially King of the Mountain with a point system instead of a reverse ladder match…
Sol Ruca made her entrance for the first Iron Survivor Qualifier (she has to win right? Kofi or John Morrison always won just so we can always get some crazy spot)…[c]
John’s Thoughts: Awesome and hard worked women’s match. Giulia and Stephanie are a proven commodity around the world, through word of mouth ethos alone. Jakara and Lash have really looked impressive. WWE really seems to have a lot of confidence in Lash and Jakara to the point where they are featured on main roster TV and PLEs now. Jakara was unknown, but I’ve seen enough now to see she’s one hell of an athlete who’s not afraid to do a high spot. Lash is the real star tho. She has the size, look, promo skills. I also like how they trust her to work with the best workers now and she’s looking good in the ring with them.
Cora Jade made her entrance (Oh! Maybe my prediction won’t come true? I like the unpredictability). Cora got a picture-in-picture promo to talk trash…[c]
2. Sol Ruca vs. Cora Jade for a spot in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline. Sol got on the top rope with Cora yelling to get down. Sol got down and slammed Cora. Sol treated Cora like a surfboard (Am I the only one that finds that a bit too cheesy?). Cora knocked down Sol and got a two count. Fatal Influence were shown warming up backstage. Cora worked on Sol with methodical offense. Both women traded forearms, with Sol gaining momentum.
Sol hit Cora with consecutive springboard axe handles. Cora tripped Sol off a Slingshot. Sol dodged a knee strike to send Cora’s knee into the buckle. Sol hit Cora with the Sol Snatcher for the victory.
Sol Ruca defeated Cora Jade via pinfall in 3:33 to advance to the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline.
Je’Von Evans and Cedric Alexander were talking about how they were locked in and ready for their upcoming match. Dion Lennox was flirting with Karmen Petrovic, but Brinley Reece pointed out how she can’t stop talking about Ashante The Adonis. Ashante showed up and asked why Karmen is hitting on his “friend”. Lennox said he’s not Ashante’s friend. The shawty’s convinced both men to tag team next week…
Wes Lee made his entrance…[c]
John’s Thoughts: As you noticed in my parenthetical asides, I expected this to be more competitive because Cora has been treated as a main eventer in the women’s division recently. Surprised it was quick (maybe they have her screw over one of the International sensations). You had to expect Sol to ultimately win though because they are going to want to have viewers anticipate some sort of crazy acrobat spot.
A bunch of random male wrestlers were in a board room with NXT GM Ava. She said she was looking for a team to step up to Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Ava named all the tag teams in the room. The tag teams started to bicker. Ava said she likes that energe, but they have to show not tell…
Cedric Alexander made his entrance…
3. Wes Lee vs. Cedric Alexander for a spot in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline. Cedric had the power advantage early on, leading to Wes stalling with the ropes. Wes got a standing side headlock. Cedric came back with a Kesa Gatame. Wes got to his feet to break the hold with a rope break. Cedric used a side headlock takedown to put Wes back in a grounded submission. Wes used a cartwheel to get Cedric in a wristlock.
Cedric did some flips to escape the hold. Cedric backdropped Wes on the apron and gave him some right hands. Cedric knocked down wes with front kicks and and right hand. Cedric went for a Flip Dive but hit foot caught the top rope and he kinda flopped (They sold it though).[c]
Wes went for a Cardiac Kick, but Cedric dropkicked him out of the air. Cedric took down Wes with a knee and basement Shotgun Dropkick. Cedric hit Wes with a Book End on the apron. Cedric hit Wes with a Slingshot Paydirt for a nearfall. Wes hit Cedric with a short-arm superkick followed by a Cardiac Kick. Cedric kicked out at two for the nice false finish. Cedric dodged a Final Flash and turned Wes inside out with a clothesline.
Wes pulled off the apron and threw it at Cedric. Cedric hit Wes with the Michinoku Driver. Wes kicked out because the referee was fixing the turnbuckle. The crowd chanted “ref you suck”. Vic said the ref was protecting the athletes. Wes gave Cedric a drop toehold onto the still exposed turnbuckle. Wes Lee hit Cedric with a running meteora for the victory.
Wes Lee defeated Cedric Alexander via pinfall in 10:55 to earn a spot in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline.
The show cut to Tony D’Angelo eating pasta at his usual restaurant. A goon confirmed that he took care of business at the docks. Shawn Spears showed up to talk with Tony D about going after the North American title. Brooks Jensen was behind him. Spears talked about how the title has motivated his family and he thinks that he can use it to motivate too.
Tony said it took him three years to get to this points. Spears said he is actually requesting a match for Brooks. Tony D asked Spears why Brooks listens to this guy. Spears held Brooks back and talked about how the only thing that’ll sacrifice his appetite is the North American Title. Brooks and Spears left. When Brooks and Spears entered the passenger seats of their van, Spears said “that’s how you handle a boss”. Spears then asked “Nico” if he agrees. Nico agreed and drove the car off…
John’s Thoughts: A bit of a scary spot before the break, but the match was solid after the show came back. Yes Cedric lost, but he was protected. That’s more you can say than his last few years on the main roster (sans that small successful Hurt Business run that was also cut short). It’s fun seeing Cedric in competitive matches again because he’s one of WWE’s best and underrated workers. Small note of Spears, I do like that his promos are less melodramatic. He’s still “dramatic”, just not sounding like he’s trying to quote Shakespeare as Emperor Palpatine. I guess he has a new disciple in “Nico”.
Byron Saxton interviewed Kelani Jordan about her title shot against Fallon Henley. Kelani was eager and ready to face all three Fatal Influence members. Jacy Jayne and Jasmyn Nyx showed up to talk trash. After Fatal Influence left, Kelani said it was on sight for Nyx and Jayne…
[Hour Two] NXT Champion Trick Williams made his entrance for a promo. Trick talked about how Philly went crazy last week. Trick talked about how things went crazy when he won Iron Survivor last year. Trick was about to call out Ridge Holland but he was cut off by Andre Chase who made his entrance through the crowd. He said he has no beef with Trick, but he has beef with Ridge. Trick said he understands.
Trick said no matter what Ridge did, Chase always landed on his feet. He said he never met Chase face to face, but the crowd needs to give him an applause for everything he’s done in NXT. Trick said Andre has done everything, but not quite everything. Trick looked at his title. Ridge Holland made his entrance, saying this has to stop. Ridge said you can’t give Andre Chase a title shot. Ridge said Trick calls himself a champion; but he’s ducking Ridge for a guy he put in the ambulance two weeks ago.
Ridge said he’s moved on from Chase, and he made the ECW Arena silent when he pinned Trick’s ass. Ridge said Trick knows that he’s the biggest threat to the title. Chase cut in and said he wants one more match against Ridge. Ridge said no. Chase said he’ll put the university on the line. Ridge said he doesn’t care because Chase already gambled it away and got it back. Ridge said he only cares about the title. Trick said he sees Ridge wants the title and Chase wants to kick Ridge’s ass.
Trick said he’s going to talk to Ava to request a number one contenders match for Ridge and Chase. Trick hyped up how Chase has a relationship with the fans, the Chase U section, Duke, Riley, and Thea. Ridge said he wants “That”. He said he wants Andre’s relationship with Riley, Duke, and Thea “done” if he wins. Ridge said he’ll go challenge for the title while Chase has nothing. Ridge asked Chase what he was going to do.
Andre Chase hesitated and then said “You’re on”. Chase said next week he’s going to give Ridge Holland a Andre Chase University ass whoopin’. Ridge floored Chase with a forearm. Trick floored Ridge with a Book End. Trick and Chase ended the segment with Chase U boots on Ridge…
A Jaida Parker promo aired where she hyped that she’s going to win the Iron Survivor…
Nikkita Lyons made her entrance…[c]
John’s Thoughts: Andre Chase always finds a way to turn a basic or cheesy segment interesting. A simple stipulation, but Chase U’s tenure of being a day-one staple of NXT 2.0 give them a lot of legacy and people actually care if there’s a threat of they break up. Yes, Chase did the dumb babyface thing where he didn’t have to put his main crew on the line, but they also established that he’s a compulsive gambler, so it sorta works. Everything with Chase U works. It works so much that I have no clue who’s winning because Ridge Holland is being booked towards a title shot through usual WWE booking.
Vic Joseph hyped an upcoming road live NXT show…
Josh Briggs introduced Ava to some Pro Wrestling NOAH guy named Yoshiki Inamura that he respected while in Japan. Eddy Thrope cut in saying he’s tired of Ava ignoring his requests for a match. Ava said she actually put him in an Iron Survivor qualifier match. Thorpe said that’s what he wanted. He thanked Ava and left…
Adriana Rizzo made her entrance to Tony D’Angelo’s old theme (that’s a 2.o throwback)…
4. Nikkita Lyons vs. Adriana Rizzo. Rizzo went for a Sunset Flip but Lyons lifted Rizzo up. Both women traded right hands. Rizzo hit Lyons with a dropkick into the corner. Lyons came back with a clubbing blow. Lyons reversed a Axe handle into a Full Nelson. Lyons used the Nelson to slam Rizzo into the top rope. Lyons hit Rizzo with a Full Nelson Slam.
Lyons tossed Rizzo across the ring. Lyons gave Rizzo a ass and knee to the gut. Lyons then used her booty to smack Rizzo in the face in it. Lyons put Rizzo in a Full Nelson. The crowd chanted for Rizzo. Rizzo escaped and rallied back. Rizzo rallied with flying forearms. Lyons lowered her weight to block a suplex. Rizzo hit Lyons with a springboard crossbody. Rizzo gave Lyons Thesz Press forearms.
Rizzo climbed to the top rope and Lyons reversed a top rope Thesz Press into a superkick. Lyons hit Rizzo with a Vader Bomb for the victory.
Nikkita Lyons defeated Adriana Rizzo via pinfall in 4:33.
After the match Rizzo hit Lyons in the back of the head with a crowbar and the crowd cheered…
Riley, Duke, and Thea caught up with Andre and asked him why he put them on the life. Chase talked about how the took a chance on Duke, Thea, and Riley to success. He said they’ve been through a lot together, and he’s not going to let anything break them up. He said he’s never had a chance at the NXT title, and Chase U will reach the highest of highs. After Chase left, Duke and Riley were a bit doubtful…
Je’Von Evans made his entrance…[c]
John’s Thoughts: With all the booty strikes Nikkita Lyons be pullin’, put her in the ring against Jaida Parker, and you can get a full on Keijo fight (YouTube “Keijo” and you’ll find a weird anime where people punch, kick, and shoot beams out of dey bootays. It exists). I digress with my weeb references. Smart of Nikkita to change her finisher from the fanservice finisher now that she’s a heel. Rizzo’s offense is still ugly, but she has something. She has a “effort” that resonates. There might be a future with her as a plucky fan favorite if done right.
A sponsored promo aired for Zaria. She said some say she’s a mystery, but where she’s standing there’s no mystery. She said she’s a fearless force here to rip and tear. The hyped up Iron Survivor and how that’s her kind of fun. She said after deadline there will be no mystery to who is “zaria”…
Lexis King made his entrance without his throne (I guess because he’s a “babyface” now?)…
5. Je’Von Evans vs. Lexis King for a spot in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline. Evans showed off his agility to set up a wristhold. King used a boot to shrug off Evans. Evans rolled up King for a two count. King rolled up Evans for a two count. Both men traded rapid pin attempts for a stalemate. Evans hit King with a Springboard Short-Arm Huracanrana. Evans hit King with a Suicide Dive.
King dodged Evans. King used his head to swat Evans out of the air. Evans sold a low blow. The crowd chanted “that’s not legal”. King refused to take advantage of the dirty tactic because he’s turned a new leaf, I guess (to continue his recent gimmick where he doesn’t want to be like Loose Cannon Brian Pillman)?[c]
King had the advantage back from break. Vic reiterated the moment where King allowed Evans to recover off the accidental low blow. Evans hit King with a Rolling Stunner chained into a suplex. Evans hit King with a Slingshot Crossbody for a nearfall. King dodged a moonsault and ate a superkick from King to give King a nearfall. Both men traded forearms.
Evans took out King with a rolling kick. Evans hit King with a Frog Splash for a really close nearfall. King hit Evans with a Backstabber and Fisherman Slam for a nearfall. Evans caught King with a superkick and corkscrew splash for the win.
Je’Von Evans defeated Lexis King via pinfall in 9:34 to earn a spot in the Iron Survivor Match at NXT Deadline.
Evans asked King for a handshake after the match and King accepted it with a hug…
Nathan Frazer and Axiom were watching the match from backstage. Frazer said he got himself an Iron Survivor qualifying match, which pissed off Axiom for going after singles gold again when they should be tag teaming. Frazer said he just wants tips from Axiom who had a shot at Iron Survivor before. Luca and Stacks as well as OTM pulled off and started to jaw with each other…
Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland in a number one contenders match where if Chase loses the Chase U team must disband, was announced for next week…
Separate shots of Kelani Jordan and Fatal Influence were shown as they were heading to the ring were shown heading into the break…[c]
Vic Joseph plugged the UC Berkeley College Football game this weekend on CW (GO BEARS!!! CAL Bears! It’s also surreal seeing the Pac-12 no more, with Cal now in the ACC)…
Lexis King entered the locker room frustrated. Hank, Tank, and Dante Chen encouraged King for a good match. Gallus showed up to talk trash to Hank and Tank. The tag teams bickered…
Entrances for the NXT Women’s North American Championship match aired. Mike Rome handled the formal in-ring Championship introductions…
6. Fallon Henley (w/Jasmyn Nyx, Jacy Jayne) vs. Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Jordan and Henley started with a Collar and Elbow with Henley going to the ropes for the break. Henley landed a chest chop. Both women got in each other’s mug. Jordan hit Henley with a armdrag. Henley dodged a dropkick and tackled Jordan into the corner. Jordan dropkicked Henley to ringside. Henley dodged a plancha and slammed Jordan’s head into the announce table. Jordan escaped and caught Henley with her boots off a backflip. [c]
A picture in picture showed a bunch of random tag teams brawling. Jordan caught Henley with a back elbow after a backflip. Jordan hit Henley with a rolling Shooting Star which Booker said was an ode to RVD’s rolling thunder. Henley hit Jordan with a Blockbuster and Twisting Flatliner for a nearfall. Both women brawled to the top rope. Jordan hit Henley with a Super Spanish Fly for a nearfall.
Henley dodged a 450 and used a leg-scissors rollup for a nearfall. Jordan hit Henley with a Olympic Slam. Jordan hit Henley with One of a Kind. Jayne put Henley’s leg on the rope for the break. Jordan used a baseball slide to hit Jayne. Jordan dragged Nyx in the ring and hit her with a superkick. Jordan rolled up Henley for a two count. Jayne gave Jordan a right hand when the ref wasn’t looking. Henley hit Jordan with the FameAsser for the victory.
Fallon Henley defeated Kelani Jordan via pinfall in 9:24 to retain the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Lucien Price and Bronco Nima stole Vic’s headset and called out some tag teams. A bunch of random NXT tag teams ran out to brawl around the announce table. The show closed with Paul Levesque, Shawn Michaels, and Lee Fitting credited as Executive Producers…
John’s Thoughts: A decent match with a predictable interference finish. They felt the need to double down by having Henley win the title with the numbers game and defend the title with the numbers game. I hope they come up with more creative finishes down the road if Henley is going to hold the title for a good amount of time. At the same time, I’m still not feeling it from Fatal Influence. They’re not Toxic Attraction 2.0, more so Toxic Attraction lite.
This felt like a show coming off a PLE, coming out of the themed ECW show. But not in too much of a noteworthy way. Not in a dud way though. It was a worthwhile two hours. Like reading chapter 1 of a book. What was noteworthy was Andre Chase putting his University on the line again (or more so his wrestling team). I would also recommend the women’s tag team match to open the show as a strong standalone match. Throw a lil love in there for Ced and Wes too if you want another rec. I’ll be by in a bit with my audio review for the Dot Net Members and Patreon Patrons.
