WWE has a plan for when Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent Bruce Prichard transitions into a consulting role next year. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reports that Shawn Michaels is expected to step into Prichard’s role. Johnson adds that the succession plan has been in place for some time.
Powell’s POV: Once Michaels takes on the new role, his current position of Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative will open. There are reports that AJ Styles will take on a bigger role in NXT, which is logical, but I’m not sure if he’s interested in working on the creative side or whether he’d be good in that role. Either way, I view the NXT shakeup as a positive. While Michaels did good work over the years, it feels like the time has come for a change in NXT’s creative direction.
