Bloodstone Wrestling “Requiem: 1 Year Anniversary”
October 9, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, at Logan Square
Available via IndependentWrestling.TV
Logan Square is an attractive two-level ballroom and one of my favorite indy venues. It’s packed with a crowd of perhaps 300. Trip Jordy was on commentary.
* Many of the wrestlers here competed in Dreamwave Wrestling, about 80 miles west, the next day. There were two death matches on this show that I opted to skip.
* Val Capone welcomed us to the show!
1. Bobby Orlando vs. Alfonso Gonzalez in a Chicago street fight. Gonzalez threw a chair at Orlando, and we’re underway! They fought on the floor, and Gonzalez hit some chops. They brawled up onto the entrance stage, where Orlando hit a DDT at 3:00! They continued to fight on the floor. Orlando hit a flying elbow drop. In the ring, Bobby put a trash can over Alfonso’s head and repeatedly struck it with a kendo stick, and he got a nearfall at 5:30. The commentators pointed out that was the first pin attempt of the match.
Gonzalez hit a spinebuster onto the garbage can for a nearfall at 7:00. He punched a thin wooden board over Bobby’s face and gave him a papercut between his fingers, earning a “You sick f—!” chant. Bobby splashed onto chairs over Gonzalez and got a nearfall at 9:30. Alfonso hit a big boot onto a chair in Bobby’s hands and got a nearfall at 11:00, and we got a “this is awesome!” chant. Alfonso created a door bridge in the ring, but Bobby hit a low blow uppercut. Gonzalez hit a second-rope uranage through the door bridge. He tied Orlando in a Sharpshooter and was using the kendo stick in Bobby’s legs too! Orlando tapped out. That was fun.
Alfonso Gonzalez defeated Bobby Orlando in a Chicago street fight at 13:45.
2. Laynie Luck vs. Aleah James vs. Jazzy Yang in a three-way. The commentators said this was the Bloodstone debut for both Aleah and Jazzy. It’s apparently Aleah’s birthday! We got the bell, but then some shots were handed to the women, and they all consumed them. Nope, Jazzy threw her drink on Aleah, making it clear she’s the heel! James and Luck traded rollups. Jazzy hit a hard knee lift to Aleah’s ribs at 3:00, and she jawed at the crowd. Jazzy hit a Russian Leg Sweep for a nearfall. The crowd chanted, “F— Ohio!” at Yang.
Laynie hit a snap suplex on Yang for a nearfall. Yang hit some shoulder thrusts into Luck’s ribs, then some chops. Aleah hit a top-rope crossbody block onto both opponents at 6:30. She hit splashes in opposite corners, then got a nearfall on Luck. Jazzy hit a spinning kick to Luck’s head, then a moonsault press on a standing Laynie for a nearfall. Aleah hit a Lungblower to Jazzy’s chest. They all traded rollups, and Laynie got their arms locked together, rolled them over, and pinned them both! Good action.
Laynie Luck defeated Jazzy Yang and Aleah James in a three-way at 8:33.
3. Jalon Strong vs. Isaiah Snow vs. Cole Radrick vs. Gwen Neodonna vs. Brian Gorta vs. Rullo in a scramble. I opted to pass on this one. A couple of new names, plus some I’ve seen before that really don’t hold my interest. Gorta hit a buckshot lariat and a short-arm clothesline for the pin.
Brian Gorta defeated Rullo, Jalon Strong, Isaiah Snow, Cole Radrick, and Gwen Neodonna in a scramble.
4. Nino Extremo vs. Koda Hernandez in a casket match. No interest. I hate casket matches just for the sake of having a casket match because it’s October. There should be a feud and a build-up to a casket match. I am not aware of any feud here. They used a ladder in the center of the ring, and the casket was placed in the corner. Koda finally whipped Nino into the casket and slammed the door shut to win.
Koda Hernandez defeated Nino Extremo in a casket match.
5. Sabin Gauge vs. Vaughn Vertigo vs. Gringo Loco vs. Terry Yaki in a four-way. This was the reason I tuned in. Sabin jawed at the crowd, making clear he’s a heel. All four brawled at the bell. Gauge hit a huracanrana on Loco. Everyone traded rollups, then they all missed dropkicks, and we had a standoff at 1:30. Loco slammed Gauge, and he hit a split-legged moonsault for a nearfall. Yaki jumped back in and hit an enzuigiri. Vaughn piled the opponents into the corner, and he raked each of their backs! Yaki hit double armdrags. Vaughn hit a half-nelson suplex on Yaki at 5:00.
Loco and Vaughn brawled into the crowd. Yaki hit an Asai Moonsault, and they landed deep into the crowd. “We might need to have some of these front-row fans sign a disclaimer, a waiver,” a commentator said. Loco hit a flip dive to the floor. Sabin dove through the ropes onto Loco at 7:00. Gauge hit a slingshot senton on Loco as they re-entered the ring. Yaki hit a Canadian Destroyer out of the ropes on Sabin for a nearfall. Loco hit a Tombstone Piledriver on Yaki for a nearfall. Sabin hit a Frankensteiner on Loco. Vaughn hit a Swanton Bomb on Sabin’s back.
Yaki hit a sit-out powerbomb on Vaughn. Sabin hit a brainbuster. Loco hit a top-rope moonsault on Sabin, and they were all down at 9:30. They all got up and traded punches and chops. Terry and Vaughn traded European Uppercuts. Sabin hit a Pele Kick on Yaki. Vaughn hit a double-noggin-knocker. Vaughn and Loco fought on the top rope, and Loco hit a Spanish Fly at 11:30. Vaughn hit a Poison Rana on Loco! Yaki hit a Cradle Shock on Vaughn. However, Sabin hit a Hidden Blade to the back of Yaki’s head and scored the pin! That was fun.
Sabin Gauge defeated Vaughn Vertigo, Gringo Loco, and Terry Yaki in a four-way at 11:57.
* We heard from Brittnie Brooks, then from Anakin Murphy. Anakin was angry that she accepted his open challenge for a hardcore match.
6. Brittnie Brooks vs. Anakin Murphy in a hardcore match. Emo hero Murphy is so scrawny, he’s barely bigger than she is. Brittnie wore a white T-shirt and full-length pants; she’s no dummy! Cover that body when in a hardcore match. The ref was about to call for the bell, but she stopped him and got on the mic. The crowd shouted profanities at her. Murphy came up behind her and was going to push a gusset plate onto her head, but she blocked it, and we’re underway! She avoided going through a table in the corner, and she rolled to the floor and went under the ring.
Brooks sprayed a chemical in Murphy’s eyes! She dragged Murphy into the ring and slapped him, and she was in charge. She pushed the gusset plate into the top of his head at 3:00. He set up a chair in the ring as she was hiding on the floor. She whipped him into the guardrails. Anakin had blood dripping down his forehead from that gusset plate. They got back into the ring, where Brittnie removed her own belt and choked him with it at 5:30. She screamed at the crowd, and she hit a running punt kick.
Murphy flipped her face-first into the middle turnbuckle, then he hit an enzuigiri at 7:00, then a stunner. He hit a fisherman’s suplex onto a door that was lying on the mat and got a nearfall. Murphy got a board covered in plastic forks. (How much time does it take to create that?) She got a plastic bat covered in tacks, and she struck each of Anakin’s arms, then over the top of his head at 8:30! She slammed him face-first onto an open chair. She swung a chair onto another chair over his face, and she got a nearfall.
Brooks dumped a box filled with glitter and thumbtacks. They fought on the ropes; she dropped underneath and powerbombed him onto the tacks at 10:30. Brittnie got a push-broom and moved all the tacks out of the ring, then she covered him for a nearfall. Funny. Anakin scooped her up and bodyslammed her onto the fork-covered board in the corner for a nearfall at 12:00! Murphy got a staple gun, but someone confiscated it. Murphy hit a spin kick to her jaw in the corner, and he buried her under door debris, then he slammed a chair onto the debris. Two guys distracted Murphy! It allowed Brooks to hit the It’s Brittnie Bitch (Eye of the Hurricane) onto a folded chair for the pin!
Brittnie Brooks defeated Anakin Murphy in a hardcore match at 14:15.
7) “Unsigned & Don’t Care” Gary Jay and Aaron Williams vs. Davey Bang and August Matthews. U&DC attacked during the ring introductions, and we’re underway! Bang and Matthews hit stereo dropkicks, then stereo dives through the ropes. Gary hit a dive through the ropes. Davey hit a spear onto Gary, then a flip dive to the floor on Aaron at 1:30. Bang & Matthews hit their team double stomp to Gary’s back. Bang backed Jay into a corner and hit repeated chops. Gary hit a swinging Flatliner on August for a nearfall at 3:30, and he stomped on Matthews’ fingers.
U&DC begn working over August in their corner. Williams hit a delayed vertical suplex for a nearfall at 5:00. Bang finally got the hot tag, and he hit a top-rope double crossbody block, then a handspring-back-double elbow. He hit a basement dropkick in a corner on Williams for a nearfall at 7:00. U&DC hit stereo forearm strikes to Bang’s head and got a nearfall, but August made the save. Bang nailed the Spears Tower on Gary. Aaron hit a uranage on Matthews onto the ring apron at 9:30.
Suddenly, all four were down. Bang hit a moonsault to the floor onto Gary Jay, but Williams hit a moonsault onto Matthews! Bang and Matthews got into the ring and traded forearm strikes. Williams hit a huracanrana. Bang hit a flipping DDT for a nearfall, but Bang made the save. Bang again went for the Spears Tower, but Aaron caught him, got an inside cradle, and scored the pin. That was really good!
Aaron Williams and Gary Jay defeated Davey Bang and August Matthews at 11:24.
8. Dr. Redacted vs. Chico Suave in a dog collar match. No real interest in this one, so I skipped it. I zipped to the end, and they were both quite bloody. They had a weedwhacker in the ring, and Suave used it on Redacted. Gross. Suave wrapped the chain around Dr. Redacted and choked him out. I definitely would NOT have enjoyed this one.
Chico Suave defeated Dr. Redacted in a dog collar match.
Final Thoughts: I enjoyed the matches I watched. I expected Gringo Loco’s match to be the best of the show, but Bang and Matthews vs. Unsigned & Don’t Care edged it out. Loco’s match took second, and the women’s three-way took third. As I expected, Brittnie Brooks really didn’t take any gross bumps or get cut open; she did all the damage to Murphy. I only caught glimpses of the Dr. Redacted and Nino Extremo matches, and all I can say is the crowd seemed happy with what they saw.
