Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (Episode 34)

* The show opened with footage from both nights of TripleMania. Graves indicated that the matches tonight are “leftovers” that weren’t shown on the live TripleMania broadcasts.
1. Dinamico vs. El Fiscal. Graves said this is Dinamico’s first-ever match in the U.S., so this was from Las Vegas on Sept. 11. Fiscal wore a full-body blue outfit. They traded quick reversals on the mat early on. Fiscal set up for a dive at 1:30, but Dinamico cut him off with a kick. Dinamico mounted him and hit some punches. He hit a dropkick for a nearfall. Fiscal got up and they traded forearm strikes. Fiscal hit a powerslam, and he pulled off the top of his one-piece. He hit a top-rope moonsault press for a nearfall at 3:30. Fiscal put Dinamico on his shoulders and slammed him face-first to the mat, then he nailed a frogsplash for the pin. Decent.
El Fiscal defeated Dinamico at 4:30.
* A highlight package for Los Perros Del Mal aired. We then saw the quartet backstage, and Daga cut a promo. God forgives, but the dogs don’t!
* Footage aired of Raw in Mexico, specifically the great Dragon Lee-Chad Gable and Penta-Reigns matches. Then some footage of Stephanie Vaquer’s title win.
* Someone off-screen interviewed Dorian Roldan. He talked about his mother getting inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame. He said he has a big announcement coming on October 3.
* Footage aired of Make-A-Wish in Mexico.
Andrea Bazarte interviewed Stephanie Vaquer. No subtitles! I heard “lucha libre” a few times…
* Backstage, La Parka talked about winning and retaining his belt. This promo had subtitles. We then heard from a dejected Mr. Iguana, who still looked crestfallen after losing that three-way with La Parka. He vowed this would not be the last time he challenges for the belt.
* Nino Hamburguesa was interviewed about his return at TripleMania in Mexico. He noted he was close to winning before Omos eliminated him. (Yes, there were English subtitles. My Spanish isn’t that strong! He talks way too fast for me to get all of what he’s saying.)
* More footage from Mexico, where Pagano turned on Psycho Clown and sided with Carnicero.
* Footage of Omos beating Rey Mysterio on Friday in Las Vegas, then winning the Rumble match on Sunday.
* A commercial for Worlds Collide in Chicago!
* A press conference with Rey Mysterio aired. He was asked about his neck. Rey unveiled the whole card of World’s Collide. Oba Femi will make “a special appearance.”
* New footage aired after TripleMania in Mexico City, with all the babyfaces celebrating in the ring with El Grande Americano. Andrea Bazarte then interviewed him backstage, and he kissed her.
* Mr. Iguana will face Taurus next week! Dinamico will face Texano Jr. There also will be a women’s three-way. (Lady Shani is shown in the graphic, but that match presumably took place before her injury at TripleMania.)
* Andrea interviewed La Catalina, who showed off her title belt. Roxanne Perez appeared and confronted her.
2. La Hiedra vs. Faby Apache. This match appears to be from Mexico City on September 13. They immediately traded rollups. Faby tied her in a Surfboard. They went to the floor, where Hiedra threw her into the ring steps. She pushed Faby into the ring and got a nearfall at 1:30. Faby hit a clothesline and a huracanrana to the floor.
In the ring, Faby hit a top-rope crossbody block for a nearfall. Hiedra hit a Flatliner for a nearfall at 3:00. Faby tied her up, rolled her around the mat, and applied a cross-armbreaker. La Hiedra finally got a foot on the ropes. Faby charged at her, but La Hiedra scooped her up and nailed a Michinoku Driver for the pin! Decent for the time given.
La Hiedra defeated Faby Apache at 4:11.
Final Thoughts: A skippable hour. I have to believe they have a few recorded never-before-seen matches they could air instead of filling an hour with highlight packages.
