The following matches are advertised for the NXT Heatwave premium live event on Sunday, August 30, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.
-Kendal Grey vs. Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s Championship match
-NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria vs. WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair in a unification match
Powell’s POV: Tony D’Angelo was scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against the winner of last night’s Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller match, but it ended in a no-contest when Zilla Fatu interfered. Will they go with a four-way? NXT Heatwave will air live on The CW and stream on ESPN Unlimited at 2CT/3ET. The show will follow the AAA Ola de Calor event that will be held in the same venue. Both shows are running head-to-head with the AEW All In London pay-per-view event.
