Brock Rechsteiner’s NFL hopes were dealt a blow when he was suspended for six regular-season games on Thursday. The NFL has yet to disclose the reason for the suspension. The 23-year-old Rechsteiner, who is trying out for the New Orleans Saints as a wide receiver, will be allowed to practice and play in preseason games before his suspension kicks in. Powell’s POV: Brock is the son of Scott Steiner, the nephew of Rick Steiner, and cousin of WWE wrestler Bron Breakker. Brock signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent back in May after playing for Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Brock was considered a long shot to make the team before his suspension. He’s considered a developmental talent, so he is realistically competing for a shot on the team’s practice squad, meaning he would practice with the team, but not play in games unless he were promoted to the active roster. Brock joined the WWE NIL program while in college. He has expressed interest in WWE once his playing days end.
