NXT: Level Up (Episode 44)
Taped in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center
Streamed December 16, 2022 on Peacock/WWE Network

‘The Dyad’ team of Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler along with Ava Raine made their way to the ring as the broadcast team of Sudu Shah and Byron Saxton welcomed us to the show…

1. “The Dyad” Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler (w/Ava Raine) vs. Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. Nima overpowered Reid in the early stages before Reid tagged in Fowler.  Nima tagged in Price who gained a near fall on Fowler. Price tagged Nima back in to continue the wear down on Fowler.

Nima tagged in Price but Price was distracted by Raine on the outside which allowed ‘The Dyad’ team to take control. ‘The Dyad’ were unable to prevent Price from making the hot tag to Nima who cleaned house on both men. Nima and Price attempted to finish Reid but Fowler pulled Price to ringside and drove him into the ring post. Fowler tagged in and ‘The Dyad’ hit a double team finish on Nima to pick up the win.

“The Dyad” Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler defeated Bronco Nima and Lucien Price via pinfall in 5:37.

2. Ivy Nile (w/Tatum Paxley) vs. Lash Legend. The wrestlers traded punches as the bell rang before Nile took Legend down to the mat with a side headlock. Nile attempted a bulldog but Legend shrugged her off and hit a pump kick for a two count. Legend dragged Nile to the ring apron and slammed Nile’s face into the edge of the ring to continue with the advantage.

Back in the ring, Legend continued to work on the neck of Nile until Nile got back to her feet. Legend missed a kick and Nile worked on the legs and hit a corner dropkick on Legend before Legend responded with a backbreaker. Legend went to put Nile away but Nile countered with the dragon sleeper for the submission victory.

Ivy Nile defeated Lash Legend via submission in 5:04.

3. “Chase U” Andre Chase and Duke Hudson (w/Thea Hail) vs. Javier Bernal and Xyon Quinn. Hudson started the match against Quinn. Quinn slapped Hudson across the face which fired up Hudson who applied a side headlock and grabbed the hair of Quinn to drive him to the mat. Chase chastised Hudson from the apron reminding him that ‘Chase U’ do not cheat, which Hudson apologised for.

Hudson tagged in Chase and Quinn made the tag to Bernal. Chase hit a Russian leg sweep on Bernal as he led the crowd with the chants of ‘Chase U’. Chase attempted to finish but he was distracted by Hudson and Quinn who were arguing at ringside. Bernal hit a bulldog and a follow up clothesline on Chase before he mocked his own tag partner which Quinn did not appreciate.

Quinn tagged himself in, looking to put away Chase himself, but Bernal quickly tagged himself back into the match to try and steal the glory. Chase rolled through and made the tag to Hudson who took out both Bernal and Quinn. Hudson hit the big boot on Bernal and tagged in Chase who hit the ‘Fratliner’ for the win.

“Chase U” Andre Chase and Duke Hudson defeated Javier Bernal and Xyon Quinn via pinfall in 7:16.

John’s Ramblings: A pair of good tag matches bookended the show this week and the Nile vs. Legend match was surprisingly competent given Legend’s inexperience which shows that WWE developmental is working with Legend well behind the scenes. An episode worth going out of your way to see.
