WWE Smackdown Live viewership declines

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown Live averaged 1.890 million viewers for USA Network, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was down from the 1.921 million count from last Tuesday’s edition.

Powell’s POV: Raw shot up this week, but Smackdown declined, perhaps because we were another day closer to the Independence Day holiday in the United States and people are traveling. That said, it might actually help the cause if WWE featured some match hype in their ads and previews. The ad for Smackdown said Kofi Kingston and Samoa Joe would appear live, and the website preview asked a bunch of questions rather than actually advertise anything in particular. Despite the low number, Smackdown finished first in the cable ratings in the 18-49 demographic. The July 3, 2018 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.013 million viewers.
