Ronda Rousey injury update, addresses her WWE future

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Ronda Rousey announced via her Youtube show that she underwent surgery to repair a broken pinky knuckle suffered during the WrestleMania 35 main event. The procedure included the surgeon inserting two pins into her right hand. Check out the video below or via Rousey’s Youtube page.

Powell’s POV: Please note that the video does contain some footage from the surgery that might not be for everyone, but that’s nothing compared to the shot of her husband Travis Browne during the closing seconds of this episode. Rousey noted that she clipped an elbow with her hand during the match with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. She said her cast will come off in four weeks. Rousey also talked about approaching WWE with the original intention of only working through November, but she opted to stay through WrestleMania because she enjoyed the experience so much and due to the possibility that women could be in the main event of WWE’s biggest event. Rousey said she and Browne are now attempting to start a family. She offered no promises regarding a return to WWE. She said she’s never had a baby and conceded that it’s at least possible she won’t have interest in returning once the baby arrives, though she also left the door open to returning.
