Mick Karch is hosting an AWA Appreciation event on Saturday afternoon from 12-4CT in Bloomington, Minnesota at the at the Embassy Suites. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20. For more details, visit the event’s Facebook Page.

Powell’s POV: There’s a long list of notable names attending, including Paul Ellering, Kenny Jay, Ken Anderson, Eddie Sharkey, The Terminators, George Schire, and Steel Domain Wrestling promoter Ed Hellier. Speaking of SDW, they are running a show tonight (Friday) in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Bloomington Event Center. I am hoping to attend the AWA event on Saturday, but I’m iffy at the moment due to the weather forecast.

  1. I loved the AWA. I remember the good old days of watching the AWA on ESPN at 4 o’clock EST. I also remember the Nick Bockwinkel and Curt Hennig match on a Friday night when Bockwinkel lost the belt after Hennig hit him with a roll of quarters. Great memories!!!!
