WWE has announced that John Cena will not be in today’s men’s Royal Rumble match. The WWE.com story cites an ankle injury.

Powell’s POV: WWE is trying to play up that the injury occurred while Cena was in Drew McIntyre’s ankle lock in a recent Raw main event, and was aggravated while Cena was training. It’s all believed to be storyline fodder. There was a time when Cena missing a WWE event would have been major news. His infrequent schedule with the company combined with the way he’s been used during his limited appearances have really changed that.

Updated: WWE has announced that Braun Strowman will replace Cena in the Rumble match.
