Kenny Omega reportedly leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Kenny Omega is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling, according to Tokyo Sports. Omega told the outlet that he’s uncertain as to what his next move will be. “If I go to WWE, the fans there will be pleased, and the fans there will be pleased if I go to AEW,” Omega said. “I want to be in a place where Kenny is going to be happy.” Omega added that he is under contract through the end of the month and added, “I do not know what will happen myself.” Read the full story at Tokyo-sports.co.jp.

Powell’s POV: Omega made some additional comments that seemed like he was speaking somewhat in character as he spoke about losing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi. “There is no real place for me to fit, so it’s best for me not to be in (NJPW),” Omega said. “I can’t be there working under Tanahashi. I don’t think he’s surpassed me, don’t think he’s better. If we can, I want to face him again. But I need time away, and not just from New Japan.” In other words, the mystery continues.
