WWE issued the following press release regarding Roman Reigns announcing on Raw that he is battling leukemia.

Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns (aka Joe Anoa’i) announced that he is relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship and taking a leave of absence from WWE as he once again fights leukemia, which had been in remission since late 2008. Reigns is taking his battle with leukemia public in an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease.

Powell’s POV: This was an absolutely shocking announcement and obviously I join everyone in wishing him the very best with this battle.

  1. First I would like to say to Roman, that you and your family are in my prayers. You made a statement about your faith. Yes I am a strong believer that you are healed because of your faith. When you are going through this battle and times get hard, just know that God has you and you are going to be okay. Praying with you and for you.
