WWE announces a title match will open Smackdown

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

WWE announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will defend the United States Championship in the opening match on Tuesday’s Smackdown television show against Jeff Hardy.

Powell’s POV: Technically, the announcement was made by Smackdown general manager Paige via social media. Nakamura hasn’t done much on television lately. Could we see a title change occur to make the Hardy vs. Randy Orton match that will be held inside the Hell in a Cell structure be for the U.S. Championship?
