WWE released a video after tonight’s NXT television show that featured Aleister Black lying “unconscious” outside of Full Sail University. Black suffered a groin injury and reportedly underwent a surgery that is expected to keep him off the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn card. Black had been scheduled for the Triple Threat main event with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship. The video released by WWE is an injury angle presumably done to write Black out of the match. Watch the video below or at the WWE Youtube Page.

Powell’s POV: The NXT crew turned this into a nice whodunnit with several potential suspects included in the video. Plus, there’s also the possibility that the attacker(s) will be someone who wasn’t shown. At this point, there’s no indication as to whether the Takeover main event will become a singles match between Ciampa and Gargano or if the company intends to add a third man.
