Former WWE wrestler Tom Magee was beaten outside his Mar Vista, California home on Tuesday. CBSLocal.com reports that Magee, 60, argued with as many as six men over a parking spot, leading to a fight that left him with a broken jaw, broken eye sockets, and a concussion.

“To me, it was attempted murder,” a neighbor told Losangeles.cbslocal.com. “If we wouldn’t have come out here I don’t know if he would be alive. To look at his face if you saw his face right now and saw what they were doing to him, he’s really lucky to be alive.”

Police arrested two 20 year-old men and booked them on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Magee is now resting at home.

Powell’s POV: Magee was a powerlifter whose WWE/WWF career started in 1986. The company had high hopes for him based on a match he had with Bret Hart. Legend has it that Hart carried him to a good match and Magee never lived up to the expectations company officials had for him based on the performance with Hart. Here’s wishing him the best in his recovery, as this sounds like a horrible situation.
