NXT Takeover: New Orleans lineup: Five matches set for the night before WrestleMania 34 event

By Jason Powell, Prowrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

The following matches are advertised for the NXT Takeover: New Orleans event that will be held on April 7 in New Orleans, Louisiana at Smoothie King Center.

-Andrade Almas vs. Aleister Black for the NXT Championship.

-Ember Moon vs. Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship.

-Undisputed Era vs. Authors of Pain vs. Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne for the NXT Tag Titles.

-Adam Cole vs. EC3 vs. Ricochet vs. Killian Dain vs. Velveteen Dream vs. Lars Sullivan in a ladder match for the new NXT North American Championship.

-Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa in an unsanctioned match (Gargano will be reinstated in NXT if he wins).

Powell’s POV: The Takeover card looks fantastic on paper. Fans will have a tough call in choosing between this event and the ROH Supercard of Honor show run opposite one another. Obviously, we will have coverage of both events on the Saturday of WrestleMania weekend. We are also looking for reports from fans attending Takeover and any dark or television taping matches that are held before the live broadcast. If you are going to the show and want to help, email me at dotnetjason@gmail.com.

  1. There is a huge UFC PPV on that night as well. Takeover will be watched Sunday morning.
