ROH 16th Anniversary PPV lineup: Seven matches advertised, NJPW wrestler added to the show

By Jason Powell, Prowrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

The following matches are advertised for the Ring of Honor 16th Anniversary pay-per-view that will be held on Friday, March 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Sam’s Town Live.

-Dalton Castle vs. Jay Lethal for the ROH Championship.

-The Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Briscoes for the ROH Tag Titles.

-Marty Scurll vs. Punishment Martinez.

-Cody vs. Matt Taven.

-Adam Page and The Young Bucks vs. Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky in a Vegas Street Fight for the ROH Six-Man Tag Titles.

-Flip Gordon vs. Hiromu Takahashi.

-Sumie Sakai vs. Hana Kimura in a Women of Honor Title tournament match.

Powell’s POV: ROH added the bottom two matches since our last update on this event. Gordon pinned Takahashi in a three-way match with Kushida on the first Honor Rising show over the weekend, then Takahashi got his win back the next night in a tag team match, so this is essentially the rubber match between the two. If last weekend is any indication, this is a potential show stealing match. It’s also good to see the women get a pay-per-view match. The event will be available via traditional pay-per-view television, FITE TV, and via ROH’s HonorClub streaming service. I will be covering the show live as it airs. ROH will be holding a television taping in the same venue the next night. We are looking for correspondents for both events.
