Paul Guzzo of TampaBay.com wrote a piece in which Kevin Sullivan and Lanny Poffo shared pro wrestling stories related to Christmas events in Florida. Sullivan recalled Jake Roberts “sneaking” into the building dressed as Father Christmas after being banned from the building. “A fan in the balcony jumped to the ground and broke both of his legs,” Sullivan recalled. “So his Christmas wasn’t too good.” Sullivan added that newspapers the next morning had stories on Santas being attacked in the street by fans looking for Roberts. Powell’s POV: Philadelphia fans notoriously booed Santa Claus at an Eagles game one year, but I’ve never hard of fans of any genre actually beating up poor St. Nick. Don’t worry, kids, I’m sure Sullivan just forgot to mention that Santa’s elves and reindeer went nuclear on those fans and saved poor Santa. Poffo shared a Christmas memory of his late brother Randy Savage. It’s a fun and recommended read.
