WWE Championship match set for Smackdown Live

WWE announced Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship for Tuesday’s Smackdown television show. The show will be taped on Tuesday in Manchester, England.

Powell’s POV: This appears to be WWE calling an audible given that they previously advertised Styles vs. Rusev for the last spot on Team Smackdown at Survivor Series. The big question is whether they have also called an audible on the Survivor Series main event. As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, I would love to see Styles win the strap before Survivor Series to set up the dream match with Brock Lesnar. My guess is that they stay the course, but I guess we’ll find out on Tuesday.

  1. The sooner they end the failed Jobber Mahal experiment the better.
