A rare title change occurred at a WWE live event on Friday when A.J. Styles defeated Kevin Owens to win the U.S. Championship. The title change occurred at the live event in New York at Madison Square Garden. Read more at WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: Styles became No. 1 contender to the U.S. Championship when he won a battle royal on Tuesday’s Smackdown television show. The storyline was that Styles would get his title shot at WWE Battleground. It remains to be seen whether they will simply have a rematch at the pay-per-view.
