Impact Wrestling TV Taping
Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios
Report by Dot Net reader MrEddyG

Jeremy Borash is still suspended indefinitely, so Josh Mathews and D’Angelo Dinero were still announcing with Dave Penzer back again for the in-ring introductions. These will air on May 12th.

1. Andrew Everett beat Caleb Konoley, Dezmond Xavier, and Matt Sydal in a four-way. Everett pinned Dezmond with the Frankenrana.

2. Alisha Edwards (w/Eddie Edwards) beat Angelina Love (w/Davey Richards) by DQ. Eddie used crutches from “last week’s” attack. While the ref was distracted by Davey outside, Angelina gets brass knuckles and hit Alicia in the back, but she was caught and disqualified. Eddie came in to check on his wife, but was slapped by Angelina. Davey hit Edwards with a crutch to his bad leg. Referees and other officials came out to finally break things up. During the break,

Borash confirmed Impact will be taping from Mumbai, India in May and the next tapings in Orlando would begin with Slammivesary on July 2nd.

A tournament match for the vacant GFW championships. Really? Why? Anyways…

3. Impact Tag Team Champions LAX (w/Diamanté, Konann, Homicide) beat Garza Jr and Laredo Kid. Crazy action with Diamante getting a top rope rana on Garza behind the ref’s back leading to LAX hitting their blockbuster into a powerbomb finish. Hopefully this will lead to some “unification” of both titles.

4. Alberto El Patron beat Magnus to win the GFW Title. A long match with lots of near falls. Alberto got Magnus to tap to the cross-arm breaker to become the new GFW champion.

5. Mahabali Shera and Braxton Sutter (w/Allie) beat KM and Kongo Kong (w/Sienna, Laurel Van Ness). Kong ended up walking out on KM and carried Laurel with him. Shera pins KM with the Sky High. The main event will be an Ultimate X match with Low Ki defending against Andrew Everett and Trevor Lee.

Xplosion Match: Dezmond Xavier beat Suicide. Xavier won with a corkscrew Swanton Bomb.

6. Kongo Kong )w/Laurel Van Ness) beat Braxton Sutter (w/Allie). Kongo won a short match with a Driver move. KM and Sienna came out after to attack before Shera came out for the save. Sutter challenged Kongo and KM to a tag match next week. I think that was the match that was taped earlier.

Officials come to ring with wreaths and black covers for the ring posts. LAX were all out to somber music. Konnan says this will be symbolic of all of the teams in the GFW tournament. He pie faced a man with an American flag, who had to be a plant. VOW come down and clear LAX from the ring.

Magnus appeared to join the announce team. Up next was EC3 vs. James Storm. Storm tried to use a belt, but Magnus took it from him and got in Storm’s face. Dave, Earl, and Bruce Prichard run out to send Magnus to the back. Ethan went out to get the belt and referee Brian Stiffler tried to take it away and was shoved down. Ethan took the belt, then took Stiffler’s shirt off and started to beat Brian with it. Magnus came back to attack Storm and got in EC3’s face. Bruce ame down and told them to knock it off and now there’s no main event for Slammiversary. Next week, it’ll be a three-way with Storm, EC3, and Magnus. Prichard said he told EC3 a few weeks ago to look into the mirror and find himself, now he says EC3 should go to the back and find his balls. EC3 attacked Prichard before Al Snow and other officials pull him off.

Borash announced he’s been reinstated and he’s hired an attorney: Joseph Park. Park proposed a tag team with him and JB vs. Josh and a partner of his choosing. Josh left and JB will call the main event.

7. Low Ki beat Andrew Everett and Trevor Lee (w/Gregory Shane Helms) in a three-way Ultimate X match to retain the X Division Championship. Low Ki may have hurt his right hand at one point after punching a chair into Lee’s face. Helms went to the top and performed a fantastic looking swinging neck breaker on Everett..The finish came with Low Ki climbing up to the top of the structure while Lee and Everett were scaling the ropes. Low Ki climbed to the middle and kicked Trevor and Adam off grabbed the hanging X Division Title belt.
