TNA Impact Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling’s Jeff Jarrett was asked in a Huffington Post UK interview whether there will be more cross over between the brands. “The relationship with GFW and Impact is going to be something that I’m obviously personally very excited for,” Jarrett said. “We are coming up on the 15th year of Impact and started Global Force a couple of years ago, seeing them come together on some level will be great. The situation that happened a year and a half ago was great for all parties involved and obviously gave GFW quite a lot of exposure. As we roll into the second quarter of this year, the GFW-Impact relationship is just going to get better.”

Jarrett was also asked whether the X Division will be a bigger focus going forward. “Well in GFW we have a division called NEX*GEN and that’s about the next generation of wrestlers much like the X-Division was in 2002,” Jarrett said. “I’ve always been a massive fan of – and here in the UK you have – I call them kids, that was 10-12 years ago but are now in their late 20s or early 30s are incredible athletes and really know what they’re doing. It’s that next generation style of wrestling that will definitely be front and centre.” Read the full interview at Huffingtonpost.co.uk.

Powell’s POV: At this point, I can’t say the idea of doing more GFW crossover does anything for me. The bulk of the brand’s exposure was on TNA television and it didn’t leave me with an appetite for more. Meanwhile, I feel the best way to feature the new stars is to feature them as today’s stars, not in their own secondary division. The X Division is essentially a cruiserweight division and it would be nice to see the company get it right for the first time in years. Jarrett also confirmed talks between Impact Wrestling and ITV in the UK. He also spoke about the company’s future in the UK, whether he intends to return to television, the UK app, and more.

  1. After reading this, I know what the Hindenberg felt like. Jarrett failed in GFW and with his wearing of two hats, will fail on both counts here. I’m out.

  2. Agree with Jason. And it seems the majority of wrestling fans barely know of IMPACT let alone GFW. Just assimilate what talent you have into IMPACT and move on.
