TNA Impact Wrestling TV Taping
Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios

Xplosion Taping

1. Davey Richards beat “Skywalker” Andrew Everett. Everett was out by himself as was Davey Richards. Surprisingly, there was a handshake between the two before Andrew attacked from behind to start the match. Davey won with the Ankle Lock.

TNA Impact Wrestling Taping

Jeremy Borash announced that this episode of Impact would be the Genesis theme and will air Jan. 26th.

New TNA Grand Champion Drew Galloway came out and received a loud “Galloway” chant. He talked about his back injury and missing ten weeks, and said he’s a changed man and everything he does is for the greater good of Impact Wrestling. He challenged anyone in the back, and out came Moose and his earrings. Moose said he was coming for his rematch for HIS Grand Championship.

1. Drew Galloway defeated Moose to retain the TNA Grand Championship. I’ve noticed the last two times the attractive female judge wasn’t there, she’s been replaced by some random 30-40 something guy. This time they had the clock on the big screen from the start. Moose dominated round one, including a powerbomb outside on the edge of the ring apron and was awarded the first round. Drew teased leaving at the start of the second round, but eventually returned. Moose went for his finisher but was “accidentally” kicked low by Drew, who tried to get his foot up to block Moose. Drew “accidentally” pushed referee Brian Stifler, hit a low blow, and nailed the Future Shock DDT for the win. The crowd was split between the two.

Rebecca and King Maxel were out as she played the “Obsolete” theme on her piano. Jeff had the green briefcase, Matt’s voice sounded a bit hoarse. Jeff says he’s number one and it might be time for Jeff Hardy to become World Champ again. Matt says he a PRE-MONITION and the Hardys must acquire as much gold everywhere. Great, the DCC’s music hits and all three were out. Kingston had the yellow briefcase with him. Storm said next week is apparently Open Fight Night and they want to challenge for the tag titles. All three members of Decay came out. Crazy Steve proposed a three way for the titles and Broken Matt agreed.

2. Broken Matt and Jeff Hardy beat Bram & Kingston and Decay in a three-way to retain the TNA Tag Titles. The Hardys retain when Matt pinned Kingston with the Twist of Fate.

3. Rosemary defeated Jade in a Monster’s Ball to retain the Knockouts Title. Madison Rayne came out to the announce table. All kinds of weapons were out: tables, kendo sticks, garbage cans, chairs, even a barbed wire table, thousands of tacks and more! Jade used her belt at one point and German suplexed Rosemary onto thumbtacks. Ouch!!! Jade used an STO onto a barbwire table, then put the table on top of Rosemary and hit a springboard moonsault from the middle rope and that was still not enough. The finish came with Jade getting crotched on the top rope, and Rosemary hit a superplex through a regular table that had been set up. Gail came out after the match to check on Jade, but Rosemary sprayed mist in her face. Great match!

4. Trevor Lee (w/Shane Helms) beat DJZ in a ladder match to win the X Division Title. Before the match, Lee had his blue briefcase and spoke normally. Z was still selling his knee injury from last week. Helms passed a chair, which Lee used to attack Z as he’s climbing. Lee pinned Z’s leg under the ladder as he climbed to get the X Title and we have a new champ.

5. Lashley defeated Eddie Edwards in a 30-minute Ironman match to win the TNA Title. No clock on the big screen to start the match. Lashley got the first pin with a spear at the nine minute mark. Bobby hit a huge powerbomb on the ramp and Eddie was counted out and it was 2-0 for Lashley at the 15 minute mark. While the referee was counting, Bobby exposed two turnbuckles. Edwards got a surprising rollup to make it 2-1. Edwards the hits a Boston Knee Party out of nowhere at the 25 minute mark to tie it. Lashley got a tap out with an arm bar to go up 3-2 with just over two minutes left. Lashley went for a spear, but Edwards caught him in a submission. Lashley would not tap out or pass out, and held on to become the new Impact World Champion cleanly. Anthem finally got something right!

6. Sienna (w/Maria) beat Brooke Tessmacher. As usual, Madison Rayne returned for commentary but Pope stayed also. Maria pushed Brooke off the top rope, allowing Sienna to hit her finisher for the win.

Xplosion Taping

1. Eli Drake beat Mahabali Shera. Still no Shera Shuffle, thankfully. Drake got the win. Pope and JB were on commentary with Josh gone.

2. Laurel Van Ness beat Deanna. Madison returned for commentary. Laurel won with her Curb Stomp.

3. Robbie E beat Marshe “All Day” Rockett. Robbie is another guy with crappy new music. The fans greeted Marshe with a “Sucks All Day” chant. Awesome. Robbie won with the Boom Drop.
