Marc Maron and Alison Brie have signed on for the Netflix series based on the defunct Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. HollywoodReporter.com reports that Maron will play the role of Sam Sylvia, a washed up Hollywood director who has a complicated history with women.
Powell’s POV: The concept looked good on paper and the addition of Maron and “Community” star Brie really puts it over the top. Maron’s most notable connection to wrestling is his friendship with Colt Cabana and CM Punk.
