Jim Ross paid tribute to the late Dusty Rhode in a new FOX Sports blog that also touted his induction into the NWA Hall of Heroes this weekend. The story features quotes from Dusty’s widow Michelle, his son Cody Rhodes, Terry “Magnum TA” Allen, and Tony Schiavone.
Cody also spoke about his desire to ditch Stardust in order to be a Rhodes again. “I was sitting in the original locker room my dad used in Greensboro, the site of the first Starrcade, when I looked down in my bag and saw the Stardust costume and I became completely disconnected from the character,” Cody said. “I wanted to be a Rhodes again and I wanted to step away and follow my dreams just like Dad and I discussed many times.” Read the full story at FoxSports.com.
Powell’s POV: A very good piece from Ross, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 with Dusty and will be present this weekend when Dusty is inducted into the NWA Hall of Heroes on Friday at the NWA Legends Fan Fest. The event takes place August 4-7 at the Charlotte University Place Hilton.
