Nike opposing The Rock’s catchphrase being used on WWE apparel

therock1Nike filed an opposition to WWE using the phrase “Just Bring It” for clothing. The footwear company owns the trademark to “Just Do It” and is attempting to prevent WWE from gaining the pending trademark. Read more at Thefashionlaw.com.

Powell’s POV: Rock used the catchphrase for a number of years and it has been featured on WWE apparel and even as the title of a video game, but Nike is now claiming that WWE’s “use and registration of [the JUST BRING IT mark] will inevitably lead to confusion, to mistake, or to deception of the public … all to [Nike’s] grave and irreparable damage.” No word yet as to whether WWE attorney’s sent Nike a note reading, “Just Bring It” in response.
