GLOW inspires a Netflix weekly fictional comedy series

wrestlingringThe defunct Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling promotion is the inspiration for a new Netflix comedy series called GLOW. The global streaming service ordered a 10-episode season of the show that was created by Liz Flahive of Homeland and Carly Mensch of Orange is the New Black. Read more at Deadline.com

Powell’s POV: Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann will be the executive producers of the series. Given the names involved, the GLOW series has major potential. Kohan has a great track record with Weeds on Showtime in addition to the popular Orange is the New Black. The GLOW promotion produced four seasons of television from 1986 through 1990.
