Kane “seriously considering” running for political office

kane1WWE star Glenn “Kane” Jacobs is “seriously considering” the idea of running as a Republican for the Knox County, Tennessee mayor position in 2018. “I think the most important thing is I care very deeply about this community, like a lot of people do,” Jacobs told WBIR-TV. “And that’s the only reason I would consider getting into any sort of government because I do care very deeply. And I think it’s incumbent upon people who care about the communities to try to make a difference.” Read more at WBIR.com. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Chris Newman]

Powell’s POV: Jacobs has been very politically active over the years and this isn’t the first time he’s considered the idea of running for office. WWE’s ironman just turned 49 last month and started with WWE in 1995. The timing of a 2018 run would seem to make sense as he is reaching that age where one can only assume he’s plotting for life after wrestling.
