WWE website story on Chyna’s death

Logo_WWE_dnThe WWE website acknowledged the death of Chyna, who died on Wednesday at age 45. “WWE is saddened to learn of reports that Joanie Laurer, best known for competing in WWE as Chyna, has passed away,” reads the story. “A physically striking and wildly talented performer, Chyna was a true sports-entertainment pioneer. Not only did the Superstar dubbed ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’ help found the groundbreaking faction D-Generation X, but she also holds the distinction of being the first and only female to win the Intercontinental Championship.” Read more at WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: The story also acknowledged Stephanie McMahon’s tweet, and offered condolences. The story is getting major media attention. Triple H, who is wrestling on the European tour, has yet to publicly comment on the death of his former fiancée as of this update.
