New England Patriots gave approval to tight end Rob Gronkowski taking part in the WrestleMania battle royal angle on Sunday. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that Gronkowski checked with the team in advance and management did not oppose it.

Powell’s POV: That female security guard opposed it for a few seconds there! Gronk eventually entered the ring and delivered a big shoulder block to Jinder Mahal, which led to Mojo Rawley winning the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal. The angle has led to WrestleMania receiving a ton of publicity from the sports media. One can only wonder who would have won had the Patriots balked at having their star tight end get involved.
