Chris Sabin told Mlive.com that he and Motor City Machine Guns tag partner Alex Shelley may go separate ways and work singles matches. “We’ve been talking about the future,” Sabin said. “Our goal when we reformed the team was to become ROH Tag Team Champions and we accomplished that goal, so it’s kind of like ‘what’s next for us?'” Read more at Mlive.com.
Powell’s POV: The story notes that Shelley started the buzz about the potential split when he mentioned on social media that Saturday’s event in Royal Oak, Michigan might be the last time fans in Michigan have a chance to see them team. I’m not sure if they are sincere or are simply attempting to generate some interest in the show, but I’m all for the Guns going separate ways in ROH. They had a recent run with the tag titles, but creative hasn’t really done anything interesting with them from a character standpoint. Sabin will be wrestling in the New Japan Pro Wrestling Best of the Super Juniors tournament that begins later this month.
WWE sure could use another quality tag team…
