1. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno vs. The NXT Tag Team Champions “The Vanity Project” Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes (w/Myka Lockwood) in a Semi-Final Match of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Back from break, an inset selfie promo aired where Grayson Waller revealed that he was right in front of Tony D’Angelo’s house. Vic noted the video was posted at the top of the hour. Dar and Romeo hit Smokes with their modified Total Elimination for the victory.

Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno defeated Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor via pinfall in 14:11 to advance to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

John’s Thoughts: I had it in the back of my mind that they were going to play the Cinderella story out and I’m happy they didn’t decide to swerve from that to create a heel vs. babyface matchup in the finals. Great match and I continue to praise Vanity Project for bumping around for their opponents, making them look like a million bucks while creatively using chicken heel tactics. This makes Dar and Moreno the favorites, but good storytelling can also be had if the Cinderella’s do fail at the end.

Tony D’Angelo was pacing and yelling in front of NXT GM Robert Stone about Grayson Waller’s potential home invasion of his home. Stone said he’ll send someone. Tony D didn’t like that and stormed out of the room saying he’ll rip Grayson Waller apart if he’s still at his home. Stone yelled that he’ll send someone to follow Tony D to make sure things don’t get out of control…[c]

A cinematic Cruz Montana promo aired. Cruz said the embarrassment, getting escorted out of the arena, and thinking Dion got one up on him wasn’t the worst thing about last week. He said the worst thing was the call he had to make. He said he wasn’t the Cruz Montana you see today last week. He said he was “the other guy” last week, the man he spent years trying to keep buried away.

Montana said Dion Lennox brought that man back. He said when he gets  his hand on Dion, you won’t be able to pull him away. He said the worst thing Dion did was pull his family into this. Montana said Cruz’s past is Dion’s future…

Lizzy Rain made her entrance where she yelled her usual, that you can’t kill Metal. Her opponent, Chantal Monroe, was “already in the ring…

2. Lizzy Rain vs. Chantal Monroe. Monroe got an armdrag in and gloated that she’s better than Lizzy. Lizzy came back by slamming Chantal to the mat. Lizzy dominated the chain wrestling sequence. Lizzy ran through Monroe and hit her with a spinning heel kick for a two count. Monroe struggled to land strikes on Rain. Chantal managed to trip Lizzy and hit her with Natural Selection for a two count. Rain came back with a springboard elbow and Fisherman Suplex.

Chantal managed to hit Lizzy with a neckbreaker on the 2nd rope for a two count.[c]

Chantal Monroe was dominating the match with methodical offense during the break. Vic noted that Monroe was dominating during the break using several neckbreakers. Lizzy managed to turned the tide with an X Factor on the apron. Lizzy hit Monroe with a Kick and Exploder. Rain hit Chantal with chops to the beat of her name. Lizzy hit Chantal with several suplex variations. Both women traded rapid rollups. Monroe got the win by holding on to the ropes for a dirty pin.

Chantal Monroe defeated Lizzy Rain via pinfall in 9:31.

A sponsored promo segment aired featuring Izzi Dame where she continued to talk about her mind games. Izzi talked about Zaria’s high school self where she did music and stage drama, saying that Zaria hid behind those. She talked about Izzi hiding behind Sol Ruca and is now hiding behind a North American Championship. Izzi said said she’ll take away the last thing she can hid behind and “it is what it Iz” (ugh)…

John’s Thoughts: “It is what it Iz”? What a horrible catchphrase. So, she’s insecure because she’s hiding behind being talented at the arts, having friends, and winning championships? What’s really tough is that those things aren’t seen as negative things to get bullied over. Not to mention, Izzi Dame has been established as an ineffective bully. She plays it off like she’s intelligent, but she comes off as a dumb TV villain. Which sucks because Izzi has been very good in the ring recently. She’s just anchored by the zombie remnants of the dead Shawn Spears faction. Poor Niko Vance is literally trapped in that dark room where they cut promos.

Entrances for the next match took place…

3. Saquon Shugars vs. Sean Legacy. Saquon slammed Legacy to the mat during the opening wristhold sequence. Legacy baited Saquon with a headscissors and backdropped Shugars. Legacy hit Saquon with a Standing Moonsault for a one count.[c]

Back from break, both men traded strikes. Shugars put Legacy in what Booker called a “Shimmynamaki”. Vic said he couldn’t figure out what move Booker was trying to call. Saquon hit Legacy with a big boot after he escaped. Shugars hit Legacy with a Backbreaker right into a Flatliner for a nearfall. Shugars no sold a few of Legacy’s chops. Both men dodged strikes until Legacy took down Shugars with a kneeling Superkick.

Legacy hit Shugars with a Saito Suplex and running Gamengiri. Legacy hit Shugars with Sliced Bread for a nearfall. As Vic did earlier, he reminded viewers that NXT as been pushed to Wednesday due to election coverage. Legacy hit Shugars with a Moonsault into a Rebound Backbreaker for a nearfall. Shugars used knees to block a 450. Shugars hit Legacy with a modified Spinebuster. Legacy got a leg on the bottom rope.

Vic and Booker noted that Shugars might have got the win if he hooked both legs. Shugars went for the move again, but Legacy escaped. Legacy hit Shugars with a Standing Spanish Fly for the victory.

Sean Legacy defeated Saquon Shugars via pinfall in 10:24.

John’s Thoughts: A productive win for both men. The story is more about Saquon Shugars being on a losing streak and a bit of a rut. His character hasn’t been the most intriguing since leaving DarkState, so this should lead to a bit of a reset and positive character development. While Legacy wasn’t the focus here, I like that he got the clean win as it gives him Ethos building while his tag team partner is out with the multi-month injury. It also reminds viewers that Legacy is a very credible singles wrestler with good potential down the road once the tag team thing has passed.

A replay aired of Grayson Waller posting that he was in front of Tony D’Angelo’s house via instagram. They then cut to Tony D’Angelo arriving back home. While on the porch, Tony D got a phone call from Waller who wondered if Tony D arrived back home. Waller noted that he’s at a restaurant because he got hungry (I think that’s what I heard?). Tony D said to wait there and he’s coming for him. Tony D got in his car…

John’s Thoughts: Uhm? Wouldn’t I just wait at home to prevent the home invasion rather than trust the villain Waller?

A split screen was shown of Myles Borne and Tavion Heights walking backstage…[c]
