By Chris Vetter, ProWrestling.net Contributor (@chrisvetter73)

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (Episode 38)
Taped on October 3, 2026, in Leon, Mexico, at Domo de la Feria
Streamed October 17, 2026, on Fox in Latin America and on the WWE YouTube Channel

Unfortunately, I didn’t watch this live, which meant suffering through the YouTube commercial breaks every 2.5 minutes. This product is borderline unwatchable with all these breaks.

* Like most episodes, it opened with a video package of past weeks’ highlights, and we saw wrestlers arriving at the building.

* La Catalina came to the ring; she was not dressed to wrestle. Rey provided translation. She showed off her newly won Reina de Reinas Title and said this year has had its lowest lows, but also its highest highs. Now, she’s living her dream. She discussed her win over Flammer. Right on cue, “Las Toxicas” — Flammer, Lady Maravilla, and La Hiedra — marched to the ring. Flammer told her it was “good luck” that she won and mockingly congratulated Catalina. Flammer vowed she would regain it.

Catalina wondered which of the three was the best wrestler. Suddenly, Maravilla was playing peacemaker, keeping Flammer and Hiedra apart! Maravilla said they are the best team. Catalina needled La Hiedra, noting that Flammer never gave her a title shot. Catalina said she will talk to GM Rey Mysterio about determining who will be the No. 1 contender.

* Seriously… five minutes of WWE commercials aired. We saw the AAA stars meeting with fans outside to promote the Street Fighter movie.

* Backstage, Flammer spoke to Rey Mysterio. Rey said he’ll decide before the show ends.

1. El Fiscal vs. Taurus. A clean lockup, and they fought to the mat. They stood up and traded punches. Fiscal hit a top-rope crossbody block, then a dropkick and a dive through the ropes to the floor at 2:00. He went for a twisting dive off the apron, but Taurus sidestepped it, and Fiscal crashed to the floor! Taurus hit some punches, threw him into the ring, and got a nearfall. Taurus hit a running double knees to the back in the corner, and a clothesline for a nearfall at 4:00.

Fiscal got up and hit some forearm strikes. He peeled off his top and hit a top-rope twisting crossbody block for a nearfall. Fiscal applied a Trailer Hitch leg lock, but Taurus reached the ropes at 6:00. Fiscal hit a back-body drop; Taurus immediately clutched his knee upon landing. While the ref was checking on Taurus, Abismo Negro jumped in the ring and hit a Roderick Strong-style gutbuster over his knees on Fiscal! Taurus hopped up — his knee was fine! — and he hit a senton for the tainted pin!

Taurus defeated El Fiscal at 7:13.

*  El Fiscal got on the mic and shouted at Abismo Negro. (This time, we had English subtitles. No consistency on that.)

* Backstage, it was now La Hiedra’s turn to talk to Rey Mysterio and try to convince him to give her a title shot.

* Footage aired of Chazz “Starboy” Hall and Mini Vikingo losing their match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

* After several more commercials, Rey Mysterio sat down for a press conference and announced some of the matches that will take place next week, including Dominik Mysterio vs. Grande Americano. Also, Rey Fenix vs. Mini Vikingo will take place in two weeks. He said Catalina will face both La Hiedra and Flammer in a three-way.

2. Galeno and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. El Mesías and Mecha Wolf for the AAA Tag Team Titles. Mesías opened against Wagner, with Wagner hitting some flying forearms. Galeno slammed his brother onto Mesias, and he got a nearfall. Galeno hit some clotheslines in the corner. Wagner jumped back in and traded forearm strikes with Mesias. On the floor, Mesias shoved Wagner shoulder-first into the ring post. Mecha Wolf dove through the ropes onto Wagner at 2:30.

In the ring, Mesias stomped on Wagner and kept him grounded. On the floor, Mesias scooped up Wagner and ran him back-first into the ring post, then threw him back into the ring. Mecha Wolf got a nearfall at 4:30. Galeno was pulled off the apron so he wasn’t there for a hot tag. Mesias hit a Flatliner, with Mecha Wolf getting a nearfall at 6:00. Galeno finally got a hot tag, and he hit some shoulder tackles.

Galeno bodyslammed Mecha Wolf and hit a flying splash to the mat for a nearfall. Mecha Wolf got a rollup for a nearfall. Galeno hit a senton for a nearfall, but Mesias made the save. Mesias and Wagner traded forearm strikes at 8:00. Mesias knocked Galeno to the floor, and those two brawled at ringside. Meanwhile, Mecha Wolf hit a superkick, but Wagner hit a Michinoku Driver. Galeno got a tag and hit a top rope frog splash onto Mecha Wolf for the pin! Fun match.

Galeno and El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated El Mesias and Mecha Wolf to retain the AAA Tag Team Titles at 9:10.

* Los Perros Del Mal ran to the ring. Before they could do anything, Mesias and Mecha Wolf pulled Galeno and Wagner to the floor to continue their brawl. However, Nino Hamburguesa, La Parka, and Mr. Iguana ran to the ring and brawled with Los Perros Del Mal. The fight was still going as the show concluded.

Final Thoughts: Both matches were fine. Nothing blow-away good or must-see, but they were decent. Galeno and Wagner should hold these belts for a long time. The show’s running time was close to an hour, but it was overstuffed with commercials for WWE shows and merchandise. As has often been the case, there was far too much Rey Mysterio on the screen. The GM should not have this much screen time on a weekly basis.
