[Hour One] Impact opened with footage of the various wrestlers who have been found laid out backstage at various times, and Special Agent Zero attacking Jason Hotch and Trey Miguel to end their match for a shot at the TNA International Championship… The Impact opening aired… Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt were on commentary…
Leon Slater made his entrance while ring announcer McKenzie Mitchell introduced him. Slater said he was doing better than last week. He acted emotional and then explained that he had to share the ring with Ryan Nemeth. Slater said he beat the razz out of Ryan. Slater spoke about how Nic Nemeth sees him improve every week and knows that he can win the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory. Slater said he didn’t want to wait and then called out the champion.
TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth made his entrance and mocked the idea that he attacked Slater last week because he feared him. Nic said his brother Ryan would become X Division Champion at Bound For Glory and then they will run the company, possibly forever.
Ryan Nemeth entered the ring behind Slater. Nic took a shot at Slater’s father not being around when he was a kid. Slater said he saw that Nic was trying to get a reaction out of him and questioned if he thought he was stupid enough not to know that Ryan was behind him. Slater dropped Ryan. Slater and Nic fought until security pulled them apart.
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella came out and announced that Nic and Slater can’t lay a finger on one another until Bound For Glory. He threatened to strip Nic of the title if he didn’t comply, and said Slater would lose his title shot at Bound For Glory if he failed to adhere to the ruling. The broadcast team questioned whether Nic and Slater could contain themselves until Bound For Glory…
Backstage, Matt Hardy spoke about the mystery attackers getting to him last week and his brother Jeff Hardy before then. Jeff walked into the picture. Matt said they would go to the ring in an hour and demand that the mystery attackers show themselves…
The broadcast team hyped the previously advertised matches and said the qualifier for the X Division Title match at Bound For Glory would take place after a commercial break… [C]
Powell’s POV: Teasing the mystery attackers’ reveal is a nice hook to keep viewers watching. TNA used the same no-contact rule heading into the Mike Santana vs. Nic Nemeth match at Slammiversary. I don’t mind them using it again because it’s logical for an authority figure to take this approach.

TNA authority figure Daria Rae was on the phone when Indi Hartwell approached her. Indi said she’s not afraid of Rae, who said she’d walk away if she were Hartwell. Indi goaded Rae, who slapped her across the screen. Indi asked Santino Marella if he got that. Santino entered the picture holding a camera and said he filmed something that the TNA Board of Directors would like to see…
Powell’s POV: It’s a good thing Santino was able to record that slap because it’s not like this show is airing live on AMC, AMC+, and TNA+. Hey, wait… Anyway, this is payback for Daria getting Santino suspended for getting physical with the talent a while back.
KJ Orso headed to the ring while an introductory pre-taped promo aired. Ryan Nemeth’s entrance followed…
1. KJ Orso vs. Ryan Nemeth in a qualifier for the six-way match for the vacant X Division Championship. Ryan performed an early neckbreaker on the floor and then got him back in the ring and covered him for a two count. Orso came back and hit an Orso Driver for a near fall.
Orso got Ryan in a submission hold. Ryan rolled over, but Orso maintained the hold until Ryan put him in position for a pin, which forced him to release it. Ryan hit the Hollywood Ending finisher and got the three count…
Ryan Nemeth defeated KJ Orso in 6:40 to qualify for the six-way match for the vacant X Division Championship at Bound For Glory.
Hannifan said next week’s qualifier will be BDE vs. Mr. Elegance…
A video aired with Rosemary wearing a straitjacket. Another version of Rosemary was shown, and she said they should start from the beginning… [C]
Powell’s POV: TNA has had Orso, Joe Alonzo, and LJ Cleary lose qualifying matches. I’m not surprised to see mostly regulars, but it would be fun if they had booked an upset with a newcomer qualifying for the match at Bound For Glory. Ryan qualifying for the X Division match means that he and Nic could come out of Bound For Glory with the TNA World Championship, the TNA Tag Team Titles, and the X Division Title.
Mustafa Ali was seated in his dressing room with John Skylar standing by when Mila Moore entered the room and handed Ali his TNA International Championship. Ali questioned who came up with the idea of having him defend his title in a three-way on his first night back after being hospitalized. Ali blamed Moore, who stammered while trying to explain herself.
“I knew it, no brains, all bimbo,” Ali said to Moore. Skylar stood up to Ali, saying that Moore handled everything while Ali was in the hospital. Skylar said she did a good job and, more importantly, she’s a good person. Ali asked if Skylar remembered what Moore said about him last week and then walked away. Moore tried to talk to Skylar, who also made his exit…
TNA veteran Shawn Hernandez was shown in the crowd…
Powell’s POV: Hernandez looks more jacked at age 53 than he was during his peak years. That’s common with men our age (not really). Meanwhile, I’m not a fan of Ali scolding Moore. Ali brought Moore into the faction recently. She’s acted heelish, and he’s been nice to her, so this is an abrupt change. It was also odd that Skylar came to her defense after he was ready to ask her out last week and before he overheard her telling someone on the phone that she’d never date someone like him.
“The Righteous” Vincent and Dutch made their entrance for the Dot Combat match while Hannifan explained that it’s a tornado match with no disqualifications and falls count anywhere. Rich Swann and BDE made their entrance and went right after Vincent and Dutch to start the match…
2. “The Righteous” Vincent and Dutch vs. Rich Swann and BDE in a Dot Combat match. They used a video game controller as a weapon at one point, which is consistent with the weapons used in the company’s past versions of the match. Vincent and Dutch were getting the better of the babyfaces before a picture-in-picture break. [C]
Dutch was busted open. He ran toward BDE on the floor, but Swann shoved BDE out of the way and let Dutch crossbody block him through a table. BDE returned to the ring while Hannifan played up that he had a one-on-one opportunity with Vincent. BDE hit a top rope frog splash and had Vincent pinned, but Dutch pulled BDE to the floor. Back in the ring, Vincent and Dutch hit Orange Sunshine, and then Vincent got the three count.
“The Righteous” Vincent and Dutch beat Rich Swann and BDE in a Dot Combat match in 12:35.
After the match, Dutch put a chair around BDE’s neck and then Vincent hit it with a second chair…
Powell’s POV: A garbage brawl match that got a rise out of the live crowd. The Righteous has a couple of wins over Swann and BDE, so I assume this is leading to the babyfaces eventually getting revenge and a big win.
Avery Styles was seated on a couch while texting on his phone. Frankie Kazarian entered the room and asked if he had a moment. Kazarian informed Avery that he got him a spot in the Call Your Shot gauntlet match at Bound For Glory. Kazarian noted that it would be Avery’s first TNA match. Avery was excited. Kazarian played up being a two-time winner of the match and then told Avery that he would also be in the Call Your Shot gauntlet match…
Hannifan hosted the sponsored TNA injury report segment. He said multiple TNA security members were injured when they tried to separate Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater earlier in the show. Hannifan said Jeff Hardy is cleared after being attacked last month. Moose is out with a neck injury, but he’s expected to return to the ring next week… [C]
