Pat McAfee stopped calling WWE Raw due to exhaustion from his busy work schedule, but he’s making time for a new Monday night job. ESPN announced that McAfee will be a weekly panelist on Monday Night Countdown. “McAfee’s new role expands his prominent presence across ESPN, where he hosts The Pat McAfee Show and serves as an analyst on College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, reads an ESPN press release.
Powell’s POV: McAfee will be taking his Monday shows on the road to the cities playing host to the weekly Monday Night Football game. Mike Florio wrote a piece about McAfee “taking over the network” at ProFootballTalk.com. The story also notes that McAfee either has or is expected to sign a new $60 million per year deal with ESPN. While the network is trying to get a return on its investment, one has to wonder if McAfee fatigue will eventually set in due to overexposure.
Since this is football-related, if you’re looking for a home for your fantasy football league, check out my friends over at MyFantasyLeague.com. They can handle basic or complicated scoring and have hosted my leagues for over two decades.
