Jersey Championship Wrestling “A Nightmare In Bergen County”
October 18, 2026, in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, at The Mecca
Streamed live on TrillerTV+
The first hour also aired free on YouTube. Again, this venue is located straight west of New York City and is the home of numerous indy shows.
* The lights were on, and the crowd was maybe 200. The place the hard camera on the stage (which makes sense to me. Some promotions point the hard camera at the stage.) Emil Jay and promoter Brett Lauderdale provided commentary, and Brett said this was “the largest crowd of the season.”
* A graphic aired to honor Jeff “Cannonball” Guerriero.
1. Terry Yaki vs. Leo Sparrow. Sparrow competed in upstate New York on Saturday, so I’m seeing him for a second straight night. He threw kale leaves on the fans and was booed. Standing switches to open, and Yaki hit a dropkick. He hit a one-legged Lionsault for a nearfall at 1:30. He backed Sparrow into a corner and hit some chops. Sparrow hit a Bronco Buster. He hit a vertical suplex and got a nearfall. Yaki hit a DDT out of the ropes at 5:00, then a Falcon Arrow for a nearfall.
Sparrow hit a Frankensteiner and a Shotgun dropkick, then a flying kick for a nearfall at 6:30. Yaki got some rollups. Sparrow hit the coast-to-coast Lionsault Kick, then a leaping DDT for a believable nearfall. The crowd rallied for Yaki. Sparrow grabbed a handful of spinach, but Yaki kicked it out of Leo’s hand. Yaki hit a Canadian Destroyer out of the ropes, then his Cradle Shock slam for the pin. A sharp opener.
Terry Yaki defeated Leo Sparrow at 9:33.s
* Footage aired of Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill and Juni Underwood arguing after their loss in September.
2. Kylie Alexa vs. Sloane Jacobs. Kylie actually got a babyface reaction, while Sloane was booed. This apparently is Sloane’s JCW debut. Emil noted that Alexa is back in action after her “brutal match” in a loss to Charles Mason last week. Sloane hit a Magic Screw twisting neckbreaker off the ropes for a nearfall at 1:30, and she took control. Sloane is maybe six inches taller, and it’s noticeable. She hit a sideslam and a guillotine leg drop for a nearfall. She choked Alexa in the ropes and was booed. Jacobs dropped her snake-eyes in the corner and got a nearfall, then an Irish Whip for a nearfall at 4:00.
Kylie fired up and hit a series of kicks. She hit a double stomp to the ribs, and they were both down. They got on their knees and traded forearm strikes. Kylie hit some clotheslines, then a fisherman’s powerbomb for a nearfall at 6:00. She hit a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall. Sloane hit some blows to the back and a spin kick to the head. Sloane hit a faceplant for a nearfall at 8:00. Alexa hit a German Suplex, a sunset flip into the corner, and her running dropkick to the face into the corner for the pin. I liked that a lot.
Kylie Alexa defeated Sloane Jacobs at 8:34.
* Emil announced the Jersey J-Cup will be held here Feb. 20-21.
3. Mike Skyros vs. Marcus Mathers. Standing switches to open. Skyros hit a kick. Mathers hit some chops, then a series of punches in the corner as the crowd counted along. Skyros bit Mathers’ forearm! Skyros hit some punches and took control. He hit a hard chop that dropped Marcus at 4:30. Marcus hit a top-rope twisting crossbody block. He hit a clothesline, a back elbow, and a bodyslam, then his mule kick for a nearfall. Mathers slammed him stomach-first to the mat and locked in a Rings of Saturn at 7:00.
Skyros hit a DDT out of the ropes for a nearfall. Mathers applied an ankle lock at 8:30. Skyros hit a uranage for a nearfall, and he applied a Sharpshooter, but Mathers reached the ropes at 10:30. They got up and traded forearm strikes. Skyros hit a German Suplex, so Mathers hit a German Suplex. Mathers sold pain in his knee. Skyros hit a back suplex at 12:30. Mathers hit a corner fadeaway stunner, and he went for a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Skyros turned it into a rollup. Mathers hit his Ospreay-style heel hook kick to the jaw, then a rollup with a high bridge for added leverage for the pin. Good action.
Marcus Mathers defeated Mike Skyros at 13:10.
4. Bear Bronson vs. Conor Claxton. This is technically Conor’s JCW debut, but he’s competed in multiple GCW matches, usually in hardcore action. The crowd chanted, “Bear is gonna kill you!” Brett told viewers the live feed was about to switch over to Triller+ only. Standing switches at the bell, and Bear twisted Claxton’s left arm. Emil and Brett talked about how these two were teammates last week in the Art of Wargames match. They traded shoulder blocks with neither man going down at 3:30.
They started trading overhand chops. Conor hit a back suplex, but Bear hit a Black Hole Slam at 5:30. He clotheslined Conor to the floor, and they brawled at ringside. Conor slammed him back-first on the apron. Claxton threw a garbage can at him, and he set up a door bridge between two chairs on the floor. However, Bear hit a Bulldog Powerslam to toss Claxton through the door bridge at 8:00. Claxton hit Bear with some door debris. Claxton picked up the hard chairs (not metal folding chairs!) and threw some at Bronson.
Bear whipped Claxton into the rows of chairs at 9:30. They traded forearm strikes as they made their way through the crowd. Bear put Conor’s head through a door, so Conor’s head was popping out the other side. The ref tried to interject, so Conor threw the ref across an open chair! The ref called for the bell, and the crowd booed and chanted, “Fight forever!” Some guys tried to separate them, but Bear and Conor beat them up. They then resumed fighting each other! They went right out the side door and fought onto the sidewalk!
Bear Bronson defeated Conor Claxton via DQ at 11:55.
5. Juni Underwood vs. Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill. Again, Ryan fully turned heel last weekend at the GCW show. This is a match between recent tag partners. Basic brawling to start, and Juni hit a running Penalty Kick. Ryan hit a second-rope flying leg drop for a nearfall at 3:00. Juni got a backslide for a nearfall and a series of chops, then a pump kick to the chest. He dropped Ryan with a superkick, then a German Suplex. Juni hit a Shining Wizard to the back of the head for a nearfall at 5:30.
Juni hit a series of chops. Ryan hit the Cleopatra stunner at 8:00, then a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. They traded chops, and Ryan hit a spin kick to the head and a German Suplex at 10:00. Ryan came off the ropes, but Juni caught him with a dropkick. Juni set up for the Flamingo Driver, but Ryan raked his eyes to escape. They traded rollups. Juni trapped both arms and got a Wheeler Yuta-style seatbelt cover for the pin. Good action.
Juni Underwood defeated Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill at 11:26.
* Juni stood up and celebrated. O’Neill attacked him from behind. “He lost fair and square!” Brett remarked. The crowd chanted, “Asshole!” at O’Neill. Ryan grabbed the ring bell and took it into the ring and struck Juni with it. Loud boos for that.
6. Slade (w/Amy Rose) vs. Jermaine Marbury (w/Benny the Basketball). Definitely a clash of styles in this one! Slade is so serious, while Jermaine is always fun and comedic. Slade attacked from behind, and the ref called for the bell. Jermaine hit some clotheslines. Slade dropped him with a clothesline at 1:00. He jawed at Benny, and he tied up Jermaine on the mat. Jermaine rolled to the floor and called for a timeout. He got a basketball. He brought it into the ring for a ‘tip-off,’ but Slade didn’t participate. He yanked Marbury to the mat by his hair. The ref called Slade for “a foul.” Jermaine started dribbling, but Slade clocked him with a forearm strike. The ref again called for “a foul.”
“Slade is not one typically known for fun or games,” Emil Jay said. The ref sat in the corner and made a hoop using his arms. Marbury made a shot, and the crowd cheered. Slade was not amused. Slade was given the ball, but he just kicked it; then he stomped on Marbury, and it appeared the fun and games were over! Marbury threw the ball at Slade, but he ducked, and it hit Rose, knocking her off the apron to the floor! The crowd reacted in horror! The ref checked on Amy, who sold a nose injury. Slade was enraged! He viciously stomped on Marbury. He picked up the basketball and threw it to the back. He choked Marbury with a cord. He refused to let go, so ref Adam Gault disqualified him!
Jermaine Marbury defeated Slade via DQ at 8:31.
* Benny got in the ring to check on Jermaine. Slade jumped back into the ring and attacked Benny! He choked the mascot ball with the cord! The crowd reacted in horror! Amy had a white towel that was splotched with red. (Was that actual blood? Doubtful. But pretty good dye.) Slade carried her to the back, and the crowd cheered for Slade.
* For the next match, we have NINE teams in this tag team gauntlet. We will start with FOUR teams. When a team is eliminated, another team will enter! (I’ve seen C*4 Wrestling use this exact type of gauntlet, and I really like the format.)
7. The Tag Gauntlet. We are starting with “Controlled Kaos” Papa Juice and Kid Chaos vs. Don Freeze and Nyiem Brooks vs. Devious Cass and Sal Mistretta vs. Tarzan Duran and Rocket. Of these four starting, only Controlled Kaos is a regular team. Brooks and Duran opened. (What incentive is there to even be in this? Your team could stand on the apron and let everyone else eliminate each other!) Emil said it is doubtful that any of these four will be around for the end of the match. Rocket hit a top-rope Swanton on Freeze for a nearfall at 2:00.
The agile, rotund Freeze hit a dropkick on Cass. Cass hit a superkick. Sal hit a German Suplex on Freeze at 4:30! Cass and Sal worked over Duran. They slammed Rocket onto Duran. Sal dove through the ropes onto everyone to retrieve a football. Cass hit a flip dive onto everyone at 6:00. In the ring, Papa Juice hit a spin kick to Sal’s jaw and pinned him at 6:42. Entering the match were “Northern Thunder” London Lightning and Storm Ryder, and this was their JCW debut.
Brett Lauderdale compared Ryder’s mullet to Billy Jack Haynes, and I can see that! Northern Thunder hit a team spinebuster move on Brooks and pinned him at 8:52. Entering next were Ray Jaz and Matt Mako, but Matt doesn’t seem to want to be part of this pairing! Jaz slammed Kid Chaos to the mat. Mako hit a big swinging slam on Kid Chaos. Duran and Rocket jumped in the ring to brawl with Mako and Jaz. Mako flipped Duran off the top rope and immediately applied a cross-armbreaker. Jaz dove onto Duran, too, and Duran tapped out at 12:13. Team No. 7 was “Wasted Youth” Austin Luke and Jimmy Lloyd.
Jimmy immediately hit a piledriver on Mako. Luke suplexed Mako for a nearfall, but Jaz made the save. Luke clotheslined Mako (those two are teammates in Expect the Unexpected!) Jimmy hit a backbreaker over his knee on Kid Chaos. Kid Chaos hit a stunner on Jimmy. Controlled Kaos hit high-low kicks on Austin Luke and pinned him at 14:52. “Miracle Generation” Kylon King and Dustin Waller joined the mat. However, Mako immediately applied a cross-armbreaker on Kylon! Dustin made the save. M-Gen hit a team slam and pinned Mako at 16:13! The final team is “Game Time” Vinny Talotta and Griffin McCoy. They immediately brawled with M-Gen. We’re at the final four!
All eight guys got up and brawled. Kylon hit a German Suplex on Ryder, but Ryder popped up and clotheslined King. Waller and Lightning traded offense. Northern Thunder hit a team powerbomb move on Waller! Controlled Kaos hit some team offense on Kylon. Talotta hit a spear on Papa Juice. Game Time hit a team slam on Kid Chaos. Dustin hit a double Lethal Injection on Game Time at 20:00. Ryder dove through the ropes onto several guys. Kid Chaos hit a dive.
Dustin hit a springboard dive onto everyone on the floor. Kylon hit a superplex on Lightning, with those two crashing onto the six guys on the floor. We got an “All these guys!” chant. In the ring, McCoy hit a superplex on Kylon. Talotta powerbombed Kylon to the floor onto four guys. In the ring. Talotta hit a Dominator swinging faceplant on Ryder for the pin at 22:18, and we’re down to three teams! M-Gen battled Controlled Kaos. Dustin hit a Mamba Splash on Papa Juice, but McCoy jumped in and stole a flash pin on Waller at 23:15! We have just two teams left! Kid Chaos got an inside cradle and pinned Talotta to win it!
“Controlled Kaos” Kid Chaos and Papa Juice won Tag Team Turmoil (nine-team gauntlet) at 24:03.
* Emil Jay got in the ring and announced that JCW is (finally!) creating tag titles. He said Controlled Kaos has to be considered frontrunners to win those belts. The father-and-son duo then spoke to the crowd.
8. Charles Mason vs. Gabby Forza for the JCW World Title. Gabby’s husband, Bear Bronson, joined her in the ring, but he headed to the back during ring introductions. New sparkly black gear for Gabby. They locked up, and Mason grabbed her hair. (Mason has shown he is quite vicious in the ring with women, including a match last week against the much smaller Kylie Alexa). Gabby, of course, is much bigger and stronger than Kylie, and she hit a bodyslam and a senton, then a series of clotheslines at 1:30. She hit a Samoan Drop for a nearfall!
They brawled to the floor, and she hit a series of chops. Brett noted the match has a “big fight feel.” She got in the ring and set up for a dive, but Mason sprayed fluid in her eyes and hit a DDT onto the ring apron at 3:30. He now unloaded some chops on her as they fought on the floor. Charles dragged her by her hair on the floor, and he was booed. He mockingly put on one of her gnome hats, but then he choked her with it! Mason threw her into the ring at 5:00, and he hit a hard clothesline for a nearfall. Mason hit a high back suplex for a nearfall at 7:00.
Mason applied a leg lock around her neck and kept Gabby grounded. He threw her into a corner and repeatedly punched her. “He’s having too much fun,” Brett observed. He hit a stomp to the back of the head, then a second one, at 9:00. He stood over her and jawed at her. Bear Bronson stormed to ringside at 10:30, but Gabby waved him off! Emil reminded viewers that JCW has disqualifications (where GCW rarely has DQ finishes). Bear looked conflicted on what to do. Mason was hitting some Facewash kicks and was in charge.
Mason hit a Meteora in the corner. He hit a second one at 12:00. “This is becoming hard to watch, Brett,” Emil said. Mason spat on her! She rolled him up for a nearfall. He charged but hit face-first on the middle turnbuckle. Gabby hit some clotheslines and a suplex, then a second-rope clothesline for a nearfall at 13:30. Gabby hit a spear for a nearfall, and they were both down. Mason threw her face-first into the second turnbuckle, and he hit a Sister Abigail swinging faceplant for a nearfall. He tied her in a rear-naked choke on the mat at 15:30, but she got a foot on the ropes.
Mason tied her in the Torture Chamber (an upside-down leg lock), and Emil noted that this was how he beat Kylie Alexa last week. However, Gabby escaped. Mason hit a Mafia Kick and a discus clothesline at 17:00. He hit a flying Meteora against the ropes, then his rolling DVD for a nearfall. He hit a piledriver for a nearfall. Gabby hit a second-rope Bulldog Powerslam for a nearfall, and they were both down at 20:00. They got up and traded forearm strikes. This exchange kept going and going! He hit a Pump Kick to her chest, but she hit a clothesline.
Gabby missed a spear and fell through the ropes to the floor. Mason dove onto her. However, seconds later she dove onto him, and we had a loud “Gabby!” chant. She ran through a clothesline and hit a spear! She hit another spear. Mason hopped on her back to choke her, but she fell backwards, dropping her weight onto him at 23:00. Gabby nailed a Fire Thunder Driver for the pin!! “We got a new champ!” Emil shouted! “The Mecca is losing their minds right now!”
Gabby Forza defeated Charles Mason to win the JCW World Title at 23:12.
* Bear Bronson jumped in the ring and hugged her, and they celebrated as Emil made the official announcement. Mason slithered to the back. Gabby stood on the ropes and showed off the belt. She got on the mic and said she’s showing “That if I can do it, then anyone can do it.” She wouldn’t be here right now if the fans didn’t believe in her. The crowd responded with a “That’s my gnome!” chant.
Final Thoughts: Maybe the best intergender match I’ve seen. It certainly had the drama, and the crowd was into every blow of that match. I’ve always felt uncomfortable watching Mason beat up smaller women like Alexa or Billie Starkz. But Gabby is such a powerhouse that she looked entirely believable matching him with her offense. The drama that Bear Bronson brought to the match can’t be ignored either — he wanted to interfere, to protect his wife, but stayed out of it.
I will go with Mathers vs. Skyros for second place, and Juni-O’Neill for third. The tag gauntlet was fun and certainly didn’t drag. Some of the eliminations came far too quickly, but that’s a problem with gauntlets in general. With Vinny Talotta’s regular tag partner (Mike Walker) out of action, I am really liking this new pairing with Griffin McCoy. Since there were random teams in that gauntlet, I would have paired Austin Luke and Matt Mako and had them called “Team ETU.” (NO, you don’t have to do a big invasion angle, but at least that team makes sense.)
I see that cagematch.net lists the Bear-Claxton match as a no contest. No official word was given. I list it as a DQ, as the ref called for the bell after he was struck. Kylie-Sloane was a good match; that’s a good use for both of them. I was mildly amused by the antics of the Slade-Marbury match. I can’t exactly say why, but watching Slade beat up Benny the Basketball afterwards just cracked me up.
Limitless Wrestling held a show in Maine at the same time, using some other regular GCW/JCW talent, so I’m pleased that this show held up without Jordan Oliver, Alec Price, 1 Called Manders, and others.
