This aired live and free on their YouTube channel. Lighting is always good here, and the crowd was maybe 500.
1. Zilla Fatu vs. Amazing Red for the HOG Crown Jewel Title. The commentators noted that Red has suffered seven straight losses in HOG. However, he’s cashing in a title contract he’s been holding onto. A feeling-out process early on. Red tried a shoulder block, but Zilla barely moved. Red knocked Zilla to the floor, then dove through the ropes onto him at 2:00. Zilla set up for a Samoan Drop, but Red escaped, so Zilla threw Red face-first into the ring post. Zilla rolled into the ring while the ref started counting out Red. Red got back into the ring, but Zilla hit a bodyslam for a nearfall at 5:00.
Zilla was in charge, and he kept Red grounded. Zilla hit a hip-toss at 7:00 and celebrated in the corner; a mix of cheers and boos. Red snapped off a huracanrana at 9:00, then a satellite tornado DDT for a nearfall. Red hit another dive through the ropes, bouncing off of Zilla, going over the guardrail, and landed in the front row! A commentator said it’s “bring a wrestler home night.” In the ring, Red went for a huracanrana, but Zilla caught him and hit a Samoan Drop for a nearfall at 11:00. Zilla hit a flying shoulder tackle for a nearfall and slowed Red down by applying a nerve hold on the shoulder.
Zilla hit a pop-up Samoan Spike, and they were both down at 14:00. He went for a second Samoan Spike, but Red blocked it. Red went for a Code Red, but Zilla awkwardly blocked it. Zilla missed a top-rope splash. Red hit a Swanton for a nearfall. Red charged, but Zilla flipped him into the turnbuckles! Zilla nailed a top-rope frog splash for a believable nearfall, and they were both down at 16:00. Zilla hit a superkick. Red hit a top-rope Code Red and his own frog splash. He hit a second frog splash from an opposite corner for the pin! New champion!
Amazing Red defeated Zilla Fatu to win the HOG Crown Jewel Title at 17:21.
* The crowd chanted, “Thank you, Zilla!” (So… is he now officially WWE bound? Mike Santana lost his ETU belt before leaving.) A commentator said that “Greener pastures await Fatu.”
2. Jaden Valo vs. Hook. My first time seeing Valo, who wore black trunks and an orange shirt. The crowd popped for the surprise, unannounced appearance of Hook! The crowd chanted, “Who are you?” at Valo. Valo jawed at Hook, who smiled and looked amused. Valo shoved Hook and did a crotch chop. Hook grabbed the kid and flipped him to the mat. Hook hit a gutwrench suplex that sent Valo scrambling to the floor at 1:30. Hook followed him and slammed him face-first on the ramp that is level with the ring.
In the ring, Valo dropped Hook throat-first on the top rope and stomped on Hook in the corner. The crowd was all over this newcomer. Hook hit a flying forearm for a nearfall. Valo hit a bodyslam and a splash for a nearfall at 4:00. Hook hit a clothesline. He tackled Valo and hit a double-underhook brainbuster. He backed Valo into a corner and hit some punches, then another suplex. Valo hit a stiff kick to the spine at 6:00. Hook nailed a head-capture suplex, then he locked in the Redrum chokehold, and Valo frantically tapped out. Solid; Valor wasn’t always on the same page with Hook.
Hook defeated Jaden Valo at 6:54.
* Dr. Hilary P. Wisdom joined commentary. A video package aired for the next match.
3. Midas Black vs. Jay Lyon. These “Mane Event” partners have teased a break-up for months before it finally happened. The bell rang and Midas immediately hit some blows. Midas was wearing pink-and-black (he’s been training with Nattie Neidhart). Lyon hit a Sling Blade clothesline for a nearfall at 1:30. Lyon hit an Asai Moonsault. In the ring, Midas hit a German Suplex. Midas hit a backbreaker over his knee at 5:00. Midas hit a spin kick to the jaw for a nearfall. Lyon hit an Exploder Suplex into the corner at 7:30.
Lyon hit a half-nelson suplex. Midas hit a Flatliner and a corner fadeaway stunner for a nearfall at 9:30. Midas applied a modified Sharpshooter, but Lyon reached the ropes. Lyon hit a second-rope swinging uranage, and they were both down at 12:30. They got on the apron, and they traded forearm chops. Midas hit a corner fadeaway stunner on the apron at 14:30, and they both collapsed to the floor. They got back into the ring, and Midas hit a superkick. He hit a buzzsaw kick, but it only seemed to wake up Lyon!
Midas hit another superkick and a brainbuster, but Lyon popped up at the one-count! Jay hit a shoulder tackle and a pop-up Flatliner, and he locked in a sleeper hold on the mat at 17:00. (A commentator said it was similar to a Tazmission.) Jay set up for a Jay Driller, but Midas escaped. Black hit a rolling Koppo Kick and a 619, then a top-rope flying elbow drop and a frog splash for a nearfall at 18:30. The ref said something to Black, so Midas punched and dropped the ref! Lyon nailed the Jay Driller for a visual pin at 20:00, but we had no ref!
Jay threw several chairs into the ring. He struck Midas across the back with it, then another blow at 22:00. Midas hit a low-blow uppercut and was heavily booed. “Dual Focus” JJP and KB Prime, two of the younger guys, came to the ring to stop Midas from hitting Lyon more. However, Lyon stood up and hit the Dual Focus team with the chair! Midas handed Lyon a chair! They both cracked chairs across the young guys’ backs.
“This is exactly what Midas wanted!” a commentator shouted. (Midas wanted to bring out the vicious side of Lyon). Midas and Lyon hit the Grand Finale (team X-Factor) on one of the DF guys, then they hit one onto the other at 25:00! “Is this a reunion? What am I watching here?” Jay and Midas walked to the back together and were pelted with debris. I never officially heard a bell to end this.
Jay Lyon vs. Midas Black went to a draw at 25:00.
4. Daron Richardson vs. Lio Rush for the HOG Cruiserweight Title. In some ways, the brash, cocky Daron is like Lio Rush a decade ago! Daron immediately hit a knee lift low blow while the ref was putting away the belt!! He hit a swinging neckbreaker and scored the pin! “What the hell did we just watch?” a commentator shouted.
Daron Richardson defeated Lio Rush to retain the HOG Cruiserweight Title at 00:44.
* The HOG commissioner came out and said the match is going to be restarted, but this time, no count-outs and no holds barred!
4b. Daron Richardson vs. Lio Rush in a no DQ match for the HOG Cruiserweight Title. Lio got up and hit some chops and forearm strikes. Daron rolled onto the entrance ramp, and he tried to escape into the crowd. Lio dove through the ropes and crashed onto Daron at ringside. In the ring, Lio hit the Final Hour frog splash for a nearfall! Lio hit some chops in different corners and was in charge. Daron chopped Lio, but Rush grabbed the arm and bit it at 3:30! Lio hit a splash to the mat for a nearfall.
Lio did his misdirection offense. Daron hit a spinning heel kick for a nearfall. On the floor, Lio grabbed his multi-color umbrella and he repeatedly stabbed Daron with it at 5:30! Daron stood up and was bleeding; the ref put on some rubber gloves. Lio dropped Daron back-first onto the apron. Daron whipped Lio into the guardrails. In the ring, Daron hit Lio with his title belt and got a nearfall at 8:30. He stomped on Lio and celebrated and was booed. Lio got up and hit some forearm strikes. Daron hit a running Shooting Star Press for a nearfall at 10:30.
Rush swung Daron’s head into a chair wedged into the corner. Lio hit the Rush Hour stunner out of the ropes for a nearfall. Daron hit a low-blow uppercut, and the heel commentator pointed out that move is now legal. Daron destroyed Lio’s umbrella! The crowd was aghast. Lio knocked Daron off the apron to the floor. Lio went under the ring, and he had another umbrella. He leapt off the apron and hit a leg drop onto Daron while still holding onto the apron. In the ring, Lio missed a Final Hour frog splash. Daron hit a running knee, then a clothesline to the back of the head for a nearfall at 14:00. Lio applied his modified Muta Lock and cranked back on the head until Daron tapped out! New champion!
Lio Rush defeated Daron Richardson to win the HOG Cruiserweight Title at 14:53.
* A lot of wrestlers came to the ring. A LOT. I don’t recognize most of them.
5. A battle royal. We have about 20 competitors in the ring, including a few women. Diamond Virago got her own entrance. Raheem Royale got his own entrance. Joey Silver got his own entrance. (Again, he has the comedy style of Colt Cabana). Someone attacked Joey Silver, and we’re underway! Matt Awesome is a big guy in the middle. A commentator said many of these guys have never been in HOG before. (They compete in HOG’s sister promotion, which is like NXT to HOG’s WWE).
Some of the guys in there are named Diego Sterling. Petey Lakes. Mad John. Tiny Giant. JJ Doze is in there; he’s been an HOG regular for the past year. Smiley. Riley Swarez. Johnny Rambo. Augustus DeLeon. Jody Aura is a top-tier young guy who always makes me think of Marvel’s Blade. Jody just tossed someone. Amira Sahar is another woman in there. Amira and Diamond briefly worked together to beat up and toss a man at 6:30, but then those two women brawled.
I am still seeing at least 12. The two women were tossed by Mikey G. A guy got tossed, and we’re down to nine. Doze went over but the refs caught him, and Doze got back in! Doze was immediately eliminated at 9:00. Diego Sterling was powerbombed to the floor by Aura, and a commentator noted Jody has eliminated several guys now. Smiley tossed Mikey G, but John Silver tossed Smiley. Kuro, a European star, is in there. Luthor, a big bald guy, is in there.
Kuro and Jody Aura traded some offense. Raheem Royale hit a missile dropkick on Aura. We are down to FIVE. Jody Aura hit a double stunner on Kuro and Raheem Royale, and everyone was down at 12:30. The others left are Joey Silver and Luthor. Silver hit buttbumps in each corner on the four others left. Silver low-bridged the top rope, and Luthor fell over to the floor! Four left! Silver flipped Raheem to the floor!
Kuro clotheslined Jody out! It’s down to Joey Silver vs. Kuro! They traded punches. Kuro hit some running kicks in the corner, but Joey hit a dropkick! Kuro blocked a mid-ring Sliced Bread and he hit a modified leaping Tombstone Piledriver! Silver tossed Kuro over the top rope, but Kuro held on. They both fought on the apron. Joey hit a Canadian Destroyer on the apron, and Kuro fell to the floor!
Joey Silver won a memorial battle royal at 17:53 to earn a future title shot.
* A video aired where Charles Mason was standing outside with a river in the background, as he talked about his upcoming match against Eddie Kingston. Mason hates everything about Kingston! A good, intense promo.
* Steph De Lander came to the ring. She was not dressed to wrestle. She wants the winner of the women’s title match!
6. Shotzi Blackheart vs. Shayna Baszler for the HOG Women’s Title. Shayna wore a T-shirt that read that it was her birthday; she took that off and wrestled in a plain black top. Cagematch.net is showing they have shared the ring just SIX times, and are 1-1 in singles matches. Their last time in the ring together was the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble. Shayna immediately pulled her to the mat and tied up Shotzi’s arm. Shayna switched to an ankle lock. Shotzi hit an armdrag. and a second-rope missile dropkick at 3:30, then her 619, but Shayna caught a leg and applied an ankle lock.
Shayna stomped on an ankle and took control, twisting the damaged ankle. She kicked at the knee, and Baszler hit a running knee on the damaged knee at 5:30. Shayna applied a knee bar on the mat, but Shotzi reached the ropes. Shotzi rolled to the floor, but Shayna stomped on the leg as it was against the ropes. Shotzi shoved her face-first into the ring post at 8:30, then she dove onto Shayna on the floor. Shotzi hopped in the ring and dove through the ropes onto Shayna. She hit another one! She hit a third one! Both were down on the floor.
In the ring, Shotzi climbed the ropes, but (intentionally!) slipped because she was selling the ankle injury. She hit a top-rope crossbody block at 10:30. Shayna hit a running knee in the corner. They traded forearm strikes. Baszler hit a spin kick to the thigh. Shotzi went for a rolling cannonball in the corner, but Shayna caught her and hit a gutwrench slam and got a nearfall. Shotzi hit a second-rope Sunset Flip Bomb at 13:00. She hit her rolling cannonball in the corner.
Shotzi went for her top-rope cannonball, but Shayna caught her and locked in a sleeper on the mat! Shotzi applied a Cattle Mutilation! However, Steph De Lander jumped in the ring and struck Shotzi, and the ref called for the bell. Shayna stood up and was clearly upset! “I’d leave right now if I were De Lander,” a commentator said. Steph tried to flee, but Shayna caught her and locked in the rear-naked choke on the mat. Mance Warner hit the ring! Shayna shoved Mance! He struck Baszler with a clothesline, and he kissed Steph.
Shotzi Blackheart vs. Shayna Baszler went to a draw due to outside interference at 14:20.
* Steph went to get something from under the ring, but Lio Rush emerged from underneath! Steph and Mance fled to the back. Lio once again (in a different promotion!) has come to the aid of Shotzi. They each held up their title belts above their head. A fun way to wrap up the segment, even if we didn’t have a clean finish to the match.
* The next match was slated to be KC Navarro vs. Ricky Sosa. KC came out first. The whole crowd sang along to Sosa’s intro song, and KC even joined in. The commentators reminded us that Sosa beat Amazing Red at the HOG show in Chicago. The height gap is vast here! Before the bell, Hilary P. Wisdom came to the ring, and he was joined by Edris Jackson and Angel Jacquez. Wisdom said no one wants to see those two fight each other. Instead, how about a tag match? However, Edris wants titles on the line. Out came Matt and Jeff Hardy! We’re getting a three-way dance!
8. Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy vs. KC Navarro and Ricky Sosa vs. Angel Jacquez and Idris Jackson (w/Dr. Hilary P. Wisdom) in a three-way for the HOG Tag Team Titles. It has been months since the Hardys have been here to defend these belts. All six fought at the bell, with the four TNA babyfaces beating up the two heels. KC repeatedly punched the “Narcissist”-style Jacquez. The heels rolled to the floor at 2:00, and for the first time, we got just one-on-one as Matt tied up KC’s left arm. The Hardys worked over Navarro in their corner. KC did a flip, and he mockingly did Jeff’s dance. KC wanted to “run it back,” so they played the Hardys’ theme song so they could dance together. But then Jeff hit a stunner on KC!
Sosa tagged in at 5:00, and he snapped Jeff’s left arm repeatedly across his shoulder. Ricky hit a sidewalk slam, and he hit an impressive Lionsault onto Jeff! Matt jumped in and brawled with Sosa. Angel and Idris began working over KC in their corner at 8:00. Angel tied him in a modified Camel Clutch. Sosa got the hot tag and hit a German Suplex on Angel, then one on Idris, at 10:00. He hit Helluva Kicks on each of the heels. Sosa hit a top-rope moonsault press onto the standing heels. The Hardys got in and hit a team suplex on Angel at 11:30. Angel hit a clothesline on Matt and posed.
Idris choked Matt in the ropes. Hilary hit Matt across the head with his thick book. Angel hit a suplex on Matt for a nearfall at 13:30. Jeff got a hot tag and hit a back-body drop on Idris, then his double leg drop between Idris’ legs, and he got a nearfall at 15:00. Sosa hit a Spinebuster on Jacquez. Matt hit a Side Effect. The Hardys brawled with the heels. Ricky and KC jumped back in and hit superkicks on the heels. Sosa hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Idris. Matt hit a Twist of Fate. The Hardys peeled off their T-shirts, and Jeff hit the Swanton Bomb on Angel for the pin.

* Matt got on the mic and put over KC and Sosa as future stars. The TNA guys all hugged.
9. Charles Mason vs. Eddie Kingston for the HOG World Title. Mason has been champion for 426 days. A feeling-out process as they tentatively locked up, and Eddie applied a headlock. A commentator said Eddie has to fly to Colorado Springs in the morning for his AEW Continental Cup match against Jake Doyle. They traded chops, and Eddie hit a standing neckbreaker at 3:00. Eddie hit an impressive delayed vertical suplex. Charles bit him on the forehead.
Eddie set up for a dive, but Mason sprayed fluid in Kingston’s eyes at 5:30. Mason stomped on Eddie and kept him grounded. Mason hit a Sabre-style neck-snap between his ankles and got a nearfall at 7:30. Charles hit a back suplex. Eddie hit a Saito Suplex. They hit stereo clotheslines and were both down. Eddie hit his rapid-fire chops in the corner, then a twisting uranage for a nearfall at 9:30. Charles hit his Meteora in the corner and his rolling DVD for a nearfall at 11:00. Eddie hit an enzuigiri.
Mason applied his rear-naked choke on the mat in the center of the ring, but Eddie got to the ropes at 12:30. Eddie hit a half-nelson suplex and a short-arm clothesline for a nearfall. They got up and traded more chops. Eddie hit the spinning back fist at 16:30. He hit another one for a believable nearfall. Mason hit a low-blow uppercut in front of the ref, who immediately called for the bell.
Eddie Kingston defeated Charles Mason via DQ at 17:11; Mason retains the HOG World Title.
* Kingston grabbed a crutch, and he jabbed it into Mason’s gut.
* Joey Silver marched to the ring with his title contract he won earlier in the night! He’s cashing it in right now!
10. Charles Mason vs. Joey Silver for the HOG World Title. Mason swung his title belt, but Silver avoided it. Mason tried a low blow kick, but Silver blocked that. Joey hit The Starburster (a fisherman’s powerbomb) and got the pin! New champion!

Final Thoughts: Certainly an unexpected finish to the show. Silver is a fun comedy act, but I guess I have never seen him as a top-tier guy that you would put a world title belt on. I guess I look at this like when Blitzkrieg put its top title on CPA — a fun mid-card act for sure, but not the champion you build around.
Zilla-Red was a blast and a fun way to kick off the show. Zilla’s farewell to the crowd, and the commentators’ words, sure make it sound like Zilla’s deal with WWE is done. I’ll go with Lio-Richardson for second, ahead of Shotzi-Shayna. I liked the intense fight between Lyon and Black, and it certainly didn’t end as I expected.
The main problem with this show was the match finishes. Lots of outside interference or disqualifications, with a draw in there where we never even got a bell to end it. It felt like no one could win clean tonight “just because they are better than their opponent” (other than Hook, of course, who won clean). I don’t mean to sound like I didn’t like the show, because the action was good — but we needed a few more clean finishes in there.
