WWE has announced that the Honky Tonk Man (Wayne Ferris) will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The event will be held on April 6 in Brooklyn, New York at Barclays Center. Read the official announcement at WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: The self-proclaimed “greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time” is finally being inducted. Honky held the Intercontinental Championship for 64 weeks before losing the title to Ultimate Warrior at the 1988 SummerSlam. Here’s hoping his HOF speech includes a rundown of his latest ass whooping list. WWE previously announced that DX (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chyna, X-Pac, and the New Age Outlaws) will also be inducted at the ceremony.

  1. It’s about time. This guy took a gimmick that should not have worked and made it among the more memorable gimmicks of the 1980s. He always looked like he was having a blast too.
