Longtime pro wrestler Salvatore Bellomo died on Saturday at age 67. A cousin of Bellomo’s wife announced via social media that his death was caused by cancer.

Powell’s POV: The journeyman wrestler is best known for his time as an enhancement wrestler on WWF television, including an appearance on Roddy Piper’s Piper’s Pit talkshow. Bellomo also worked for Eastern Championship Wrestling later in his career. My condolences to Sal’s family and friends.

  1. What I find odd, and this happens a lot, is that I’ve seen news sites refer to him as a WWF and ECW “star”. He was never a a star, or even a miscarriage. But I guess “Former WWF and ECW jobber passes away” wouldn’t get as many clicks.
