The National Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame weekend begins today and runs through Saturday in Waterloo, Iowa. The weekend includes the Impact Pro Wrestling tournament on Friday, and the Hall of Fame banquet on Saturday night. For information on the weekend, visit NWHOF.org.

The one night, eight-man tournament features Bob Holly vs. Colt Cabana, Austin Aries vs. James Jeffries, Brian Cage vs. Curt Stallion, and Air Wolf vs. DJZ in first-round tournament matches.

Saturday’s Hall of Fame event will honor Dan Severn and Owen Hart as inductees into the 2018 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, and award winners Booker T (Lou Thesz Award), Bruiser Brody (Frank Gotch Award), Ben Askren (George Tragos Award) and Koji Miyamoto (Jim Melby Award).

Powell’s POV: The list of notable people attending the weekend include the wrestlers listed in the tournament, Scott Dawson, Dash Wilder, Adam Pearce, Booker T and Sharmell, Road Warrior Animal, Gerry Brisco, Brian Blair, Larry Hennig, Stan Hansen, Nikita Koloff, Tony Garea, JJ Dillon, Bob Orton, members of the Hart family, and many more. I will be making my first visit to HOF weekend along with Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell of PWTorch.com. I have heard nothing but good things and I’m especially looking forward to visiting the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum. Tickets are still available for the various events. I will be in Waterloo on Friday and Saturday, and I encourage you to say hello if you are attending the weekend events.

Check below for the new Pro Wrestling Boom Podcast with Jason Powell and my guest Bruce Mitchell, who spends some time discussing the HOF weekend along with a wide variety of topics.
