A jury ruled in favor of defendants CM Punk (Phil Brooks) and Colt Cabana (Scott Colton) regarding the defamation lawsuit filed by WWE physician Chris Amann on Tuesday in Cook County, Illinois. The trial lasted six days and the jury returned with their ruling after roughly two hours of deliberation.

Powell’s POV: Amann was seeking over $4 million in damages he claimed he suffered as a result of comments that Punk made about him during an appearance on Cabana’s “The Art of Wrestling” podcast. Nick Hausman of WrestleZone noted on his Twitter page that Cabana looked relieved by the verdict, Punk and his wife AJ Brooks (f/k/a AJ Lee) shared a tearful embrace, and Amann reacted by “staring off blankly.” Punk is scheduled to fight Mike Jackson on Saturday’s UFC 225 event on Saturday night in Chicago at United Center.

  1. No surprise. Even Amann himself said his job hasn’t suffered one bit. WWE put Amann up to this. I hope Vince enjoyed paying for nothing.
