-Both WWE crews have the weekend off. No, it’s not that Vince McMahon has developed a big heart in his seventies. Rather, it’s that the Raw crew will be going to South Africa next week. Monday’s Raw will be held in Hartford, Connecticut, and Tuesday’s Smackdown taping will be held in Providence, Rhode Island.

-Ring of Honor is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Stage AE on Saturday with the following advertised matches: Silas Young vs. Flip Gordon for the ROH TV Title, The Briscoes vs. The Young Bucks for the ROH Tag Titles, SoCal Uncensored vs. Cody, Marty Scurll, and Hangman Page, and Dalton Castle and The Boys vs. The Kingdom.

-ROH is in Columbus, Ohio at Express Live on Sunday with the following advertised matches: Dalton Castle vs. Marty Scurll vs. Beer City Bruiser vs. Punishment Martinez in a Deny or Defy match, Cody vs. Matt Taven in a First Blood match, Jay Lethal vs. Jonathan Gresham, Coast 2 Coast vs. The Dawgs, and SoCal Uncensored and Shane Taylor vs. The Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and Flip Gordon.

-The next Impact Wrestling event is the “Redemption” pay-per-view on April 22 in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios. The company will also tape television from April 22-26 in the same venue.

-The Evolve 104 and 105 events will be held on May 19 in Summit, Illinois and May 20 in Livonia, Michigan.

Birthdays and Notables

-Monty Brown is 48. He wrestled by his real name in TNA and then worked as Marcus Cor Von in WWE.

-The late Stan Stasiak (George Emile Stipich) was born on April 13, 1937. He died at age 60 of heart failure on June 19, 1997. Stasiak was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s legacy wing last weekend.

-The late Antonio Rocca (Antonino Biasetton) was born on April 13, 1927. He died on March 15, 1977 at age 55 after complications following a urinary infection.
