Dalton Castle spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and was asked if he feels different since winning the ROH Championship. “Absolutely,” Castle replied. “I feel a lot of pressure now. I feel before there was a goal I was working towards and once you accomplish that, it’s no longer pushing forward and, like, I’m going to prove to the world that I can beat champion. I feel more pressure than ever and every match I have has to be the best match I’ve ever had because now I’m showing the world that I deserve to be champion and I’m going to continue to be champion.”

Castle was also asked what he’s learned from working with the Bullet Club. “First off, you gotta be super-talented,” he said. “You’ve got to get a brother who’s on the road with you. And you have to document it and be super-entertaining and smart. Those guys are, beyond description, brilliant when it comes to exposure. They’re also entertaining and really really goof wrestlers. The Young Bucks are inspiring I feel like to every wrestler out there, to show that you can become world stars with just the use of an iPhone. They’ve created a following and it travels with them all over the world. It’s not just based on Bullet Club with them. They’ve helped raised that group a new level that it probably would have never have been.” Read the full interview at SportingNews.com.

Powell’s POV: Castle is absolutely right about what people can learn from the Young Bucks and the Being The Elite video series, and for that matter the approach that the NWA is taking with their videos. I’m surprised more wrestlers haven’t attempted to put their own spin on the concept. Castle also discusses his ROH Title defense against Marty Scurll, which will co-headline Saturday’s ROH Supercard of Honor event (join me for live coverage), elaborate entrance possibilities, and more.
