Dot Net reader AJ Maltese (and friend Charlie) attended Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown taping in Newark, New Jersey and sent the following report.
Apollo crews defeated Viktor of The Ascension in the dark match.
WWE Main Event Taping
1. Jack Swagger beat Simon Gotch.
2. Heath Slater and Rhyno beat Tyler Breeze and Fandango. Rhyno won for his team after a gore.
Smackdown Live Notes
New Jersey is always has a pro heel crowd. AJ Styles had barley any heat and received the biggest pop of the night. Dean Ambrose came in a close second. James Ellsworth and Heath Slater were very close also as thirds. It was a good Smackdown. We tried to get tickets for Raw, but the box office was closed even through they said it would be open. It was my first Smackdown in eight years and my first event since 2014. I enjoyed it. Smackdown is a stronger show than Raw. The place was sold out. I saw no empty seats
In the dark match, Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
