-WWE is in Tokyo, Japan at Ryogoku Kokugikan tonight with the following advertised matches: Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat for the WWE Championship, John Cena vs. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Chris Jericho, New Day vs. The Usos vs. The Vaudevillians vs. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows for the WWE Tag Team Championship, Charlotte vs. Natalya for the WWE Women’s Championship, Asuka vs. Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship, Dolph Ziggler vs. Curtis Axel, and Baron Corbin vs. Titus O’Neil.

-TNA returns to Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios for television tapings on July 12-14.

-Ring of Honor will be in Baltimore, Maryland at William J Meyers Pavilion on July 8 with a live event headlined by Adam Cole, Hangman Page, and Nick Jackson vs. Colt Cabana, Jay Briscoe, and Jay Lethal in a six-man tag match.

-The next Evolve dates are July 16 in Queens, New York, and July 17 in Melrose, Massachusetts.

-Pro Wrestling Guerrilla returns to Reseda, California with “Thirteen” on July 29. The event is headlined by Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the PWG Championship.

Birthdays and Notables

-Harold Sakata was born on July 1, 1920. He died on July 19, 1982 at age 62 of liver cancer. Sakata won a silver medal in weightlifting for the United States in 1948, and he is perhaps best known for playing the role of Oddjob in the James Bond film Goldfinger.

-Former WWE Diva Search participant Carmella DeCesare is 34. She is married to former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia.
