According to WWE.com, Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor to win the NXT Championship at a live event in Lowell, Massachusetts. Finn Balor had held the title since July 4th, 2015, and was the longest reigning NXT Champion to date.
Barnett’s Brief: This is an exciting development for people who had been hoping to see Finn Balor make his way up to the main roster, as he had been regularly making reference to “Balor Club” and the arrival of his friends Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to the WWE for quite some time. The timing remains up in the air, but the conspiracy story on the main roster between all the former Bullet Club members has added another potential wrinkle.
